We have the 500MB disc that was removed from our Humax Foxsat HDR when we had it upgraded to 1TB and would like to put some of them back on to the new disc.

The old one is now in an enclosure with USB connector. If I just plug the external disc into the Foxsat's USB socket will it recognise it and allow us to move recordings since they originated on that machine?

If not, I'd welcome any advice on how to where to go from here

Yes, plug in the usb drive and allow it to be recognised. Then just go into recordings, press option+ and select the File Manager to copy files from the old drive to the new one.

Have the new drive showing on one side of the screen and the usb drive on the other side and use edit mode to select the files you want and copy them across. It's a bit of a slow process unfortunately but gets the job done.

Thanks Mickey_T; was hoping it was that simple (even if slow )

May be a while before I get to it, however, as we are in the middle of moving house

You will find the recordings in the video folder in the third partition on the hard disk

You don't actually need to move them, you can replay them from the original disk over usb and use it as a recordings back up.
