I have nothing against Claudia, but she is not a big showbusiness star, and no way should anchor this show. This seems more on the cheap cost cutting by BBC, but you can bet the BBC executives will not give up their pay, pensions and expenses.

Which, if true, would be a good thing surely, rather than pay large sums to attract your "big showbiz star" (which would also attract much criticism from many quarters I suspect).

Why should they if they are entitled to them? Would you?

Anyway, if the report is true, it's more likely that Tess remains out front, with Claudia doing the post-dance interview segments (as happened on the times when Bruce was not there).

And, if true, it would be something of a first to have one of the BBC's top entertainment shows anchored by two women.

I don't care if is a man or a woman, but i think it should be a big showbiz name, to do otherwise cheapens the show, and makes a nonsense of interplay between host and judges, will the judges respect a jobbing presenter, and will contestants, i doubt it, unless they keep quiet which can't be done.

Not sure what on earth this has to do with what BBC executives are paid especially as it is a fraction of what other TV companies and newspapers pay.

Claudia Winkelmann has been associated with the show now for several years so it keeps some continuity. Some people don't like her but I don't there is a single name that has been mentioned for the programme who is not disliked by many people.

Tess Daly is well established on the programme so it seems fair to promote her to the lead role, I am sure she would also be happy to step to one side when Bruce Forsyth makes the promised appearances. I suspect most 'big names' would not be happy about being subservient to a woman and Bruce Forsyth taking over the lead role once or twice a year.

So who in your mind would be big enough in the world of showbiz to fulfil the role that you have laid out?

And is Tess a jobbing presenters anyway, having successfully presented a number of Strictly shows, as well as being a fixture for many series.

Not keen on Claudia at all too scatty and disjointed for my liking, I like Tess but I think she is more suited to post dance interviewing, disappointed if this news turns out to be true, Strictly is my favourite programme on tv so I shall still watch and see if I can watch the 2 girls but to be honest I will probably record it and watch later, fast forwarding the Claudia bits

Graham Norton, this is his type of show, he gives the show a big name, will be risque but also is extremely professional as shown in eurovision contest. He would have good repartee with judges, contestants and pieces to camera.

Is a "sir" and an all round entertainer.

As for Claudia I say why not, but thing Graham a Norton or John Barrowman is better and wouldn't mind Veron Kay.

The show feels like it needs a male/female partnership.

Someone like Anton or maybe even Rob Brydon (had he not ruled himself out)

But then maybe that's because I don't like Claudia. I'd rather Zoe Ball got the gig.

I can't believe how this stooping, gurning, self-conciously 'kooky' fake keeps getting jobs. A disaster for this show.

I hope she gets some glasses before then to stop her squinting at the camera or auto cue.

I thought the plan was for Tess to take over as the main anchor and for Claudia to speak to the contestants after they have danced and received the judges comments. I don't think Claudia is going to be the main host.

How about Martin Clunes......?

I hope not. I am fed up with her little impressions of a 12 year old girl. All that squinting, gurning and knock kneed poses just make her look stupid.

They need somebody on there who can not try to be the star of the show, just get it running smoothly with a bit of know how of the subject.

He would be my choice as well, however, he has already said that he would be too lazy to do it (yes, honestly!) probably due to his talkshow commitments (which is normally recorded on a Thursday) and his Saturday morning radio programme. He has also said that he “wouldn’t jump at the chance” to host the show.

Not impressed if it is Tess - she has zero chemistry with the judges

“Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are 'the BBC's choice' to present Strictly Come Dancing following the departure of Sir Bruce Forsyth

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are to be unveiled as the new Strictly Come Dancing presenting team, according to reports.
Daly, who hosted the show alongside Sir Bruce Forsyth until his retirement last month, will become the main presenter.
...
It would be the first all-female presenting duo on Saturday night television.
The BBC said an announcement of the new line-up is expected in the next week or two.

However, a Strictly source told the Sunday People: “It will work like the shows that Bruce missed last series. Tess will be the main presenter with Claudia doing the post-dance interviews.

“This very much fits with [BBC director of TV] Danny Cohen’s desire to be seen to promote female faces during prime time.

“Claudia is very well-liked in-house but it has taken a year or two for the audience to get used to her quirkier presenting style. Producers like the relationship between her and Tess. They gel nicely together.”
...”

So it is Tess who is the main host.
