Which phone is best to get?

I currently have a android LG-E400 phone which i have on pay as you go.

It is a good phone and i can get internet and all the things i want etc. However in the last few months i have been having trouble with the phone, things like turning itself off randomly without me touching it, trouble starting it up, not letting me into some apps etc. A couple of days ago on the bar you get at the bottam two icons have disappeared mysteriously which happened to be my contacts and my settings icons. Somebody told me this is something to do with my battery and that once that happens your phone has had it. As of right now it is on and ok.

So with the trouble i have been having with it lately i was thinking of getting a new phone. I have been doing research/looking into different phones. I have looked at reviews for the iphone5s and saw that many people found it froze, had a crap battery life, would not open apps or lag etc. So after reading all of that i thought i would see how the iphone 4 panned out. I see it has a few difficulties.

So what i need is some people`s reviews. Which is the best phone to get? All i want on a phone is a good camera, music, app store, internet, wifi and games etc. I use pay as you go but i am looking into paying the full amount upfront.

The other phones i have been looking at is Lumia and samsung galaxy. Although whichever one has the windows, i think it is the Lumia, i would not like the concept of the windows design where all the apps are etc.

I would also be interested in what deals certain companies have.

Thank You.

Try a factory reset on the phone. That might clear things up for you

But for a new phone you should stick with the ecosphere you like - Apple, Google/Android or Microsoft/Nokia.

If you're buying and paying for the phone upfront I'd suggest the Google Nexus 5 as it is the best combination of value and specs or perhaps the Moto G , which is reasonably powerful and even cheaper again.

Other possibilities could be last year's top handsets (HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4) which may be available at a more reasonable price now their successors are out.

I'm not a fan of IPhones and if your looking at an iPhone 4/4s I'd argue that the phones I've mentioned above are all light years ahead.

I would go 100% with everything mentioned above apart from the Moto G (which I normally recommend) as the camera is not that good on that phone (I've heard the camera on the Nexus 5 is quite good now after it had a software update).

I would probably go for a Galaxy S4 myself (either a new one or 2nd hand one off Ebay as the price should have gone right down now the S5 is out).

If you buy the phone outright then Three do a SIM deal for £12.90/month rolling 30 day contract with 200mins, unlimited texts and data and if you went for a 4G phone then that's included free as well.

You haven't told us your budget; either monthly or upfront cost.

It would also be useful to know what's important to you in a phone; camera, email, web browsing, games, screen size.

You need to look at videos of the interface in Android vs Windows Phone vs Apple because you don't seem to understand the differences.

Thank You for all of your responses. I will look into all these different types of phones and see which one is ideal for me. Thank you again.

If you can afford it and want to go to iOS (apple) then don't go for the 4s - if you have the money get either the 5c or 5s.
If you're used to Android though, stick to that! Apple iOS is very straightforward and user friendly but it's very different to all the other systems.
Google for android v microsoft (rubbish imo) v apple ios and that will either confuse you or help you! But at least you'll be well armed.

^ That microsoft one is the one im trying to avoid, we have that design on the computer and even on their it confuses me.

So all afternoon i have been researching what is the best phone etc. The samsung galaxy 4s sounds like a problem as many people found it broke in the simplest of places like your pocket etc. I like the moto G and the Iphone 5c.

For the iphone 5c i have been looking at the costs on Carephone warehouse and they compare prices with other companies. I`m not thinking of buying it yet but i was wondering if the upfront payment costs £99 do i pay just £99? Do i pay nothing else? I don`t have any monthly installments to pay?. The only thing i would have to do is change network.

If the upfront cost of a contract is £99 then you pay this plus a monthly fee. This could be the case with more expensive phones like the 5C or S4. Of course many contracts require no upfront cost.

If you are buying payg the the £99 is to own the phone outright. The Moto G would be in this category.

Ah ok, the upfront price doesn`t seem worth it to me.

This is how to

LG L3 Optimus E400 Hard Reset/Remove Password

Try it and report back.

Get a new battery for £3.49 if the old one has run down or act as a spare

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quality-Re...item417540dc39

If you do decide to buy a new phone my advice would be to
(1) check if you can replace the battery. Useful as a spare on a journey.
(2) check the price of spare batteries on ebay

You can currently get the LG G2 for under £300 form a number of retailers including eBuyer. Its a total no brainer really at that price. Its like a better made, more feature packed nexus 5, with every bit as much performance, a better screen and better camera.

The 4S was a cracking phone before iOS7 came along, since then my 4S has been ... unpleasant. iOS is easy to use. Android is easy to use. WP is easy to use. Anyone who says different isn't to be believed - my 5 year old son can happily alternate been Android, Playbook, iOS, WP and even my old Symbian phone, then either he's a genius or (more likely) they're all easy to use.

But saying that MS is rubbish - care to back that up, or is it just a personal preference? Apps are presented in a simple list. Games are listed in the games "folder". Any applications that you want quick access to can be pinned on the home screen, and can give live updates depending on their nature (similar to the Android widgets, but not a separate application).

At the end of the day, most phones these days tend to be pretty good devices, be they running iOS, Android or WP. Which one you choose tends to be down to personal preference, unless there is a very specific application that draws you which is unavailable on other platforms.

MotoG and the iPhone 5C is an interesting choice, one is an entry level phone that can be bought outright for less than £100, the other costs 4x as much and does pretty much the same thing.

Out of the two, the MotoG is clearly the better value for money.

And further with regards to WP; I absolutely loathe the Windows 8 "metro" interface on a desktop or laptop. However the interface works exceptionally well on a mobile, or possibly a tablet - it is not a desktop interface.
