I had a lot of failed recordings over the last few days on my Humax 1000S. When I tried to directly record a live programme today I got the message that there was insufficient room on the HDD. I tried a factory reset but to no avail. I ended up formatting the HDD and all is now ok apart from losing all my old recordings obviously. The auto delete was set to auto but as far as I could see it did not delete any old recordings to make way for new ones.

Anybody else experience this?

I think that the factory reset may be to the old software version as I don't seem to have full catchup services available.

Unless it's something I really want to keep, once watched I delete straight away.
The only issue I've had lately is a couple of Unsorted File messages when trying to playback Corrie.

I know it's a bit late now, but why didn't you just manually delete a load of old program's/series you had recorded instead of a format?

Thanks Gonzo,
to be honest with you I used the opportunity to get rid of a lot of stuff that the wife had recorded and had mostly forgotten about.
I had assumed that the auto delete would have operated like it does on the Tivo where you never have to worry about HDD space.

Yeah that's how it's supposed to work, but I've never been inclined to even let my HDD fill up to that point to try it out.
