Which is your fave of the three?

I'd have to say Mrs Ross, the supreme diva

Tina Turner has the most interesting voice and singing style. Cher has got a beautiful voice. Diana Ross has the most soulful voice. I prefer Diana's and Tina's music to Cher

Cher's music is very patchy. She would realease one good song followed by several crap ones then another good one or two, then more crap

i dont see why being a 'diva' is seen as a good thing... tbh its a pretty foul trait.

for me, tina turner only had 1 great song....river deep mountain high (with ike). diana ross (with the supremes) had a pretty good run of decent songs, cher though for me tops them because i like her 60's material the most, having more great tracks (imho) then the other 2.

however, with the turn of the decade, they all ended up solo artists, i havnt much time for any of them.

Tina Turner all the way. Cher will always be great but Tina is one of the all time greatest.

I've never got the appeal of Diana Ross. I also have no connection to her voice whereas Tina is just an incredible vocalist.

However what sets Tina apart from the other two for me is her life story. Everything she has been through. She is a living legend.

Diana Ross for me
Apart from two songs, Tina Turner has never done it for me but i can see why she is held in hihg regard.

Cher for me is too inconsistent and i only like her Believe and closer to the truth albums, plus a few singles she has released in the 70's and 80's.

As I think I have outlined elsewhere it has to be Tina Turner.
A great soul, r n'b and a rock singer - rare in itself but a great black female soul, r n'B and rock singer, very rare. She could have been lead singer with The Stones or The Who just as much as with The Supremes or the Vandellas!

I agree with Mushymanrob (but then I frequently do ).

I love Tina with Ike, but can't stand her solo stuff ("River Deep Mountain High" is an absolute classic, while "Simply The Best" is simply the worst imo).

I love Cher with Sonny, but again can't stand her solo stuff (or her post-sixties solo stuff to be more precise).

As for Diana Ross - I can't stand her with or without the Supremes.

Give me Aretha over those three any day of the week.

ah, now whilst i agree that aretha was a better, more influential artiste, i dont like her material as much as these 3's 60's stuff.

i actually prefer nancy sinatra (with lee hazelwood) to any of these!

Yes, I like Nancy Sinatra too, and also love her duets with Lee Hazlewood, especially the unique and amazing "Some Velvet Morning".

Nancy and Lee were the perfect duo. I'm not so keen on Nancy and Frank. A father and daughter singing a romantic love song together doesn't quite feel right to me.
