Yep phone wise although they are 'supposedly' developing new phones all the time. Although I would check if it is up to date as I am sure the z2, s5 were due to be supported from lunch.
The phone must also not be rooted or jailbroken. There doesn't seem to be any way around it, even root hiding software doesn't work.
I think Sky has relaxed some of its restrictions so it should work on all new devices without having to be pre-approved.
However, rooting is a definite no no as mentioned. It won't work at all, just as you can't hook your phone up to an external TV/monitor and watch on there either.

Bit of a joke really cos you can do that with a laptop or presumably a windows 8 tablet. And obviously the xbox 360 is plugged into a tv / monitor anyway.

That only applies to the generic tablet app as far as I am aware, mobiles still need individual approval.

But I can confirm it works fine on the Z2 and M8. Hopefully Sky is speeding up its approvals process as it was shocking before (as in MONTHS).
I've also got the tablet version on my Nexus 7 and still can't figure out why it can't be used in landscape mode (well even the smartphone version) given you'll watch all the content in landscape!

Eh! I have not heard that before and would totally negate the whole point of sky go. You mean landscape and not portrait yes?
Bad wording on my part. I mean the UI is all portrait only, but you watch the content in landscape.
It would make more sense, especially for the tablet version, to have designed it so you use it always in landscape mode.
Now bear in mind that I have only used it on the Nexus 7 and perhaps it does rotate on the larger screened tablets. But, I'd argue for it to be designed to work in landscape even on smaller screen phones. How hard would it be?

Ah I see, yes you are right all tablets I use too, it is one of the things they will fix in final release I think I remember reading.

Yes, works fine via HDMI from a Win8 tablet.
I don't know why Sky is so concerned about TV output from a smartphone or tablet, or why it has a such an archaic way of restricting devices compared to Netflix, Spotify etc.

I would assume they believe people would be far more willing to pass on a mobile phone to give someone access to sky than they would a laptop. Also it would be easier and cheaper for someone to buy say a HTC desire and use your account rather than have to purchase a laptop if it outputted to TV
These are the things I have pondered on myself as it never really make much logical sense to me either, not that I have too much time on my hands you understand.
I think Sky just has a rather old system that can't easily be changed, so that's the way it will be for some time. I am sure Sky will think 'if it aint broke...'.
By its very nature, it's an online service so I think if Sky had set up its service today, it would copy the others and allow multiple installations but only 1 (or 2) of them to work at any given time. Easy to check.
The offline stuff is already set to expire pretty quickly, and even quicker once you've started watching, but it's not the end of the world. Like Spotify, you could restrict how many devices could store offline content (at the downloading stage when you'd have to be connected).
