Ive just seen some of those photos. All that insect life. Almost alien....
As I say the year in amber on 1443 has been simply incredible.

But it's the timescale involved that I find so poignant - perfectly preserved for 230 million years in the case of the two Triassic mites in the story below.

Just think about that for a moment.

It is simply awe-inspiring.

Next to zero unfortunately.

Because (as far as I am aware) the largest single lump of Amber ever discovered only weighs 50.4 kg and is from the Miocene anyway.

I think bird, plant, or insect fossils add much more colour to our understanding of prehistoric times then just another set of dino fossils.....

Indeed.

But most of the links I post are not about dinosaurs but other prehistoric life in all it's forms.
