Might be more useful than keep coming back here all the time... ”
Thanks, but i have only asked one question really, which would have only took one sentance to answer, rather than sending me a kink to a user guide, where I havent really a clue where I am looking.
As you can see lsst night I asked but jinda got nowhere.
On de,eting bookmarks wherever I look it says click on the open book sign, and go down to edit, click on that, and the click on delete button for each.
I am clicking on the openbook sign but cant see an edit tab

Page 48 of the manual.
Shows an image of the Bookmarks tab open and "Edit" in the bottom right hand corner. You have to make sure that you have also tapped the open book icon in the Bookmarks tab as well.
Followed that already 5 times, no edit icon appears, The icons on the Safari screen seem to be adding on there own, picking up websites I havent even been on, and us adding them as a Bookmark.

Do you have another iPhone or Apple computer at all?
If you have an iCloud account this is likely to be where your problem lies from what you are saying.
Whilst people on here are willing to help others you are expected to help yourself too. You need to read and understand how an iPad works from the manual, you can download this for free from Apple.
If none of this works for you then your best option is to take it into an Apple Store and let them check it out to see what is wrong with it.

Perhaps you are looking at History (which has a spectacles icon) rather than bookmarks (which has a book icon).
When I press the bookmark sign now, it now is shutting Safari down by itself. I thought you couldnt do any thing wrong on this mschines. Listening to the chappy in QVC for example, he says anything can be done by pressing home button
Things O havent even look at have become Bookmarks, CBBC Website being the latest.
