No word on that yet but my feeling is that a prime would not be Asia limited.

Is this going to be a South Korea only product though, similar to how the i9506 wasn't released until Q3 here?

I think it's a bit of a slap in the face to those who have purchased the S5 and literally 2 months later have a "Prime" edition of their phone get released.
They did that before with the S4, they let loads of people buy it and then brought out some better model just after (I can't remember what now) once the owner is locked into a 2 year contract.

The LG is the one for me anyone I think I've made my mind up, I just like a lot of what I've heard. Will be getting it on the 1st day it goes on sale, possibly the watch too for £180 and I'll report back!

I have a feeling it may be for the first month or so.

Getting back to LG, If they can ship over 5 million G3's worldwide then that'll be good for them. They really struggled to get the G2 over 3 million in the first quarter.

I thought the G2 was a bit cheap looking, I didn't like the design and shape or the bulgy buttons at the back and specs wise it was ok, but the G3 looks to be much improved.

Also why not wait for the new LG Windows phone?

HTC is still very overpriced for what you get. No wonder they're not doing well anymore.
When you have brands like LG, Samsung, Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo & Xiaomi all coming out with better phones at better prices then it's easy to see why HTC are failing. Especially when HTC haven't even made a mark in their home continent.
So HTC give you the best build quality in an Android phone, the best speakers, a fantastic screen, an innovative camera, some useful software enhancements like zoes and a much improved skin. But ZTE phones are better. Care to elaborate?

Sorry but Zoes is the silliest name ever, the skin is laggy and the feed page lags out all the time I've noticed when watching pocketnow etc, the camera isn't very good and the screen isnt as good as the new 2K screens that are coming out on new phones over the next few months. I'll give you the speakers, they are great as is the design.

The arguments you make about software could equally be made for competitors, they are all trying to layer on things like s-health etc.

ZTE is better on price and hardware. Believe it or not, ZTE have better spec phones than the HTC One and at better prices.

Also build quality doesn't mean much to me. People went on and on about the HTC One X and it's full polycarbonate design being the best at the time. Yet quite a lot of them had build quality issues and failed within the first 3 months. Metal doesn't mean good build quality, especially when it's the hardware inside that can fail/be manufactured incorrectly. It's a good material to use but even plastic is better in most cases. Drop a HTC and see how it chips/cracks. Drop a plastic phone and it's a lot stronger.

Also the screen is average, camera is average. Battery is average. Their flagships pre 2013 weren't the best and suffered a lot of issues which put people off HTC. Plus they haven't been competitive or tried to market all their devices.

Don't get me wrong, HTC is a great brand but things went bad for them and they haven't been able to make a good comeback. Their shipments only reached 22.6m units last year compared to 32.6m in 2012 and 43..6m in 2011. Now they aren't even in the top 10 manufacturers anymore. There are reasons they haven't grown. LG shipped more than double what HTC did in 2013.

The g2 base was good but I think things such as the 32gb not as available as it should have been coupled with no sd hurt it. It also talked a while for people to get over some of their experiences with the turkeys LG made previously. I think HTC still suffer this too.

I agree.

Hence why I imported the Korean version with Micro SD Card support and removable battery support + 32GB Onboard storage.

LG have certainly come along way in the past year and they seem to a have a better direction now.

Yes this was always the speculation prior to release but many places got the hobbled version. I really hate this territory variation game manufacturers play, fine to have differing models for some markets but an individual phones structure should remain the same. This is the reason I never seriously considered the g2

I liked the G2. Screen was superb and i liked the design.

Thing is, i'm a vanilla Android fan, so the G2 i didnt want as it didn't have that.

Also, looks like HTC are making the next Nexus according to data found in the latest Chromium code.

I dont see how they let people down. Its the nature of electronic equipment that your tech will be out-of-date within a month or two. As for people being tied into a 2 year contract, that isnt Samsungs fault. You can buy the phone outright and have a sim only contract.

If Samsung did the same thing with the S4, then the people who purchased the S5 should have been aware that Samsung may bring out a new version shortly. Samsung in this case are reacting to the G3, nothing wrong with that.

Who cares about a silly name? Does that really retract from the user experience? I have a friend with a M8, he upgraded from an S4. He says there is absolutely no lag with the M8. He claims its much smoother that then S4 that he had.

Granted the M8 might not be as good as the new 2k screens, however when the M8 was released, its screen was up there amongst the best. The M7, was one of the best phones of 2013. The M8 is currently one of the best phones you can buy. No doubt the M9 will have a 2k screen (most probably).

Whilst it maybe expensive, its in the same price bracket as other flagship phones. The M7 was more expensive than the G2, but then it was a better phone.

The G2 at its lower price, made it attractive, hopefully the G3 will be similarly priced. However if Lg decide to cash in on the success of the G2, they may well bump the price up.

All of them look good to me, but I think the silvery grey for me, even if it is polycarbonate, not aluminium booo!

But the fact is Zoe's isn't a stupid name. It describes perfectly what the function of the feature is as it is derived from zoetrope. Obviously some people will need to Google that so I won't spoil it for them.

Hmm ZTE have better phones than the HTC One for sale. What are they?

There just seems a lot of justification of intended purchases going on.

You sure you quoted the right person in your response? It wasnt me calling the zoes name silly...I was merely saying who care about the name.

I havent decided which phone to get yet. I was going to get the M8, until I learnt that LG were going to announce the G3 earlier than I thought. So now its between the M8 and G3. The only reason why I discounted the S5, was because I fancy a change from Samsung. There is in my eyes, nothing wrong with the S5. Since I prefer android over iOS, I have the option of switching manufacturers.

ZTE phones were never on my radar, so cant say anything about them.

ZTE Grand SII LTE, ZTE Nubia X6 and then even the ZTE Redbull V5 can compete against other HTC phones in the budget to mid range category.

Oh I see what you did. You took someone's mention to buy a HTC One as a chance to criticise the company based on there non flagship models. I wonder why you have that particular agenda?

I don't.

You asked which ZTE phones are better than the HTC One and I responded with the Grand SII LTE and the Nubia X6 which beat the HTC One on both specs and price. The ZTE Redbull V5 is better spec'd and price'd than other HTC phones such as the HTC One Mini 2 which was just recently announced.

I'm answering this in the response of your question and the other question posed about why HTC aren't doing so well. The Redbull V5 for example retails under £100. The similar spec'd HTC One Mini 2 retails over £400. A huge difference for what is pretty much the same phone.

The biggest hurdle for me is the size of the phone. It's massive.
