Another great night for NOW TV - the football yesterday and now Game of Thrones tonight.

I don't use Now TV, but what is the point of having the service if you can't watch some of the prime shows on it?

Sky have not said what the problem is and how they intend to rectify it. Service is not fit for purpose.

I have an Entertainment Pass and rarely watch anything live apart from The Simpsons, but I can understand why sports customers are pee'd off and it's like the third time the service has gone wonky with GOT. Totally not on.

I have no complaints with my service but I don't think they are doing good enough for the majority.

Couldn't of happened to a nicer company i hope this is Skys downfall, nasty company in my opinion.

I've just given NowTV a trial (to bag a free £10 PSN voucher) and have to say the service is much better than I was expecting considering all the complaints I've read. I managed to watch a few movies over the weekend, plus some TV shows to trial the entertainment side of things, and had no buffering issues and the quality was good considering I only have a 6MB download speed.

I've not tried watching anything live as yet as I've no real need for that side of things. Probably won't commit to it on a monthly basis but will drop in and out every so often to binge watch various things.

Bought the NowTV Box with a reduced 3 month movies trial last December. If you need some smart TV apps cheap or iPlayer etc then it's a good value box at £10. Movies are a pretty poor collection though so didn't renew the subs for that. Have used the sports pass a couple of times without any problem, though not for football. Will keep it for the odd sports pass but would probably use it more if it was possible to get a pass for just the game I wanted to watch a little cheaper.

Signed up to the entertainment pass last week so I could watch the new series of 24. Initial thoughts are that I am fairly disappointed:

- Picture quality is very poor compared to netflix and amazon. I understand the live streams only show in SD but even the on demand stuff doesnt look much better.

- Content is a bit disappointing too. Considering the amount of shows that Sky hold the rights for there seems to be a very limited selection of box sets to choose from. Was hoping to be able to watch all of GoT but again was disappointed when I found out they only had them on for a limited period which expired last week.

Once 24 finishes will definitely be cancelling my subscription unless something improves dramatically.

It's simple really - in terms of technical expertise in online content delivery Sky are novices - and seriously lacking in comparison to their competitors.

The issue they have is that they're attempting to build this in house (I know more than one person working over there) and because this is new to them, they're making continuous errors which they're not able to instantly fix.

The solution, in my opinion, would be for them to cease developing Now TV in house, and partner up with an expert in delivering content online. Recently WWE Network launched in partnership with MLBAM - there were issues in launch week, but since then problems were quickly ironed out, HD on demand works now flawlessly and high volume 720P live content is now also being delivered without any issues (after initial launch hiccups).

Bottom line - for these errors to continually happen on Now TV and Sky Go with no fix in the offing, whilst still charging people for a service that can't handle the load is unacceptable. In its current form it is not fit for purpose.

I managed to get near 720p streaming of on demand content through Now TV - I certainly wasn't expecting that.

Rights are limited and, in many cases, may not include wholesale on-demand internet streaming - in some cases it doesn't include online live streaming - so it's not a straightforward open-and-shut issue.

Maybe my expectations were low considering all the complaining that goes on about Now TV but I didn't think it was too bad - better than LoveFilm Instant/Amazon Prime as a complimentary service to Netflix as far as I've experienced...

I think there are ample shows available.

Some seem to think it's a way to get Sky cheap which is incorrect; it's quite acceptable that some shows Sky customers will get Now TV's won't; after all it is a cheaper service and not meant to be a replacement for a full Sky subscription. I also have no problem with Sky paying for their full subscribers to access things that are excluded under Now TV.

If people want full no hold barred access then they need to pay out for a proper Sky subscription, instead of moaning it's not available under the cheap option.

As for Game of Thrones, it was on there two months and now episode 1 of S4 has expired it would be pretty pointless to still have S1-3 surely?

Rights are a complex issue, The Simpsons even in the US has only just become available on streaming services.

Also networks like HBO who routinely release dvds a year after airing are not going to be falling over themselves to accommodate Sky with rights issues.

HBO release boxsets within 6 months in some cases (TD is due out in June) and have already started pushing full seasons for rent/purchase through other online stores like Apple and BlinkBox, for example, so they're one network not completely tied to Sky.

I was surprised how small the unit is, and also that there's no standby/off button, apparently it uses so little juice that it's designed to stay on all the time with a screen saver.

Only had mine a few days, mainly to watch GoT after getting tired of the other methods of accessing that content. Watched the latest episode via catch-up and also the first episode of Penny Dreadful.

No complaints so far. No interruption to service, no adverts on catch-up, and picture quality looks good. I think it's 720p but not sure if that's how it's streamed or if the box is upscaling for output down the HDMI.

A fiver a month for the entertainment pass is very reasonable for some of the latest shows. Not convinced about paying £10 for a day pass for sport, especially with the reported technical issues with live content.

Just got a £10 voucher from Now TV. I've now had 1 free month of the film package and 1 of the entertainment as well. That means they've not really had any money off me at all so far when you include the free initial 30 day period!

Probably a good job the parent company has such deep pockets...

Can I have someone to buy Sly NoW box for me in the UK and watch it abroad via vpn or smart dns? I already have an account on Sly Now website.

Restricting access to Sky Atlantic is not looking such a good idea for them.
