TV Picture Stretched
Hi
My parents recently bought a Panasonic TX-L42E6B LCD/LED TV. They have Sky via RF2 from a Sky Hd box in another room. On Sunday whislt Sky Sports was on I'd noticed the picture was stretched as you could only read Sky Sp in the top right hand corner of the screen. The picture ratio on the TV settings is set to Auto. Picture Format on the Sky HD box is 16:9. How do I resolve this issue so the correct ration is displayed, without it being stretched? Thanks Baz |

Set TV to 16:9
Auto does not WORK !!!!!!!!!! Also on Sky box is option for RF 2 to display a different format, harking back to CRT TV's. You could buy a POWERED splitter for HDMI and run a cable through for a better picture. On the TV , you may have to on Analogue , Freeview and HDMI channels to ensure that they are all set to 16:9 rather than auto. This is so the tv remembers personal settings in every input |

Auto does not have a chance of working on an RF connection as there is no aspect ratio signalling included as there is with a SCART or HDMI connection. As said, play with the manual aspect ratio settings on the TV (and possibly on the Sky box) to get the desired result. It actually sounds as if the picture is a zoomed cut-out rather than stretched.

As per post #2, set the TV to 16:9 (NEVER use Auto - it's worse than useless), and ensure RF2 on the box is set to 16:9 as well (the default was usually 4:3).

Hi
Yeah the picture is zoomed out, rather than stretched. I had a quick play around on Sunday with settings. Setting the picture ration to 16:9 didnt help either. I'll have a bit more of a play around tonite and see what happens. Thanks Baz |

How do I make sure RF2 on the Sky box is set to 16:9? Is the option in the same piture settings on the Sky box for the main TV? Thanks Baz |
