Could be! Some of those camera angles were very unflattering to Cat last night. Some of her interviews were a bit on the crap side.

I think Edith and Cat are the only two good things to come out of MTV!

Oh, and she's 'married' to Colin only in terms of the radio show....at least, that's as far as I know!

Edith was by far my favourite performance as well. Great song choice too

Edith was amazing! I was so shocked that that sound came out of her...plus thats a mega hard song to sing so she really nailed it.

I really enjoy her and colins show on radio one as well. She has some real talent , plus she seems like a really nice person.

Edith is a legend. What a suprise her voice was. And how sweet was Colin afterwards on BBC3? He was so proud of her and looked so worried. More Edith (and Colin) please

16/1 for Edith to win?? Wow those are good odds, 'cause I really think she could win this.

She WAS 16/1 - 6/1 is the best you can get now.

Mind you that's still not too bad. I mean can you see a BBC1 programme NOT having a Radio 1 DJ as a winner??

Not that I'm saying it's fixed or anything..........

One of the other girls asked her if she & Colin are an item after she said that he'd bought her a negligee but she said "Oh God no!" She also said that she's been single since before Xmas., I think. Is she gay? I thought that Alex Parks said as such in FA2.

Yeah that reminds me ... who was it that Alex Parks allegedly snogged - was it her?

That's what I thought Alex claimed. Didn't she have a thing about Edith?

That's what I though too, at first.

She was by far the most competent of the initial group, and she was likeable.

But as time went on, I found that that was all she had. She wasn't interesting or entertaining or fun.

Then the producers made a huge mistake: getting rid of all the other presenters and combining Edith with Iain Lee. Her limitations then became painfully clear, and I've always been a bit annoyed that she escaped with so little blame.

It's irritating that she can sing well. Maybe it shouldn't be; but it is.

Edith is a real lovely person not cut out to be a comedian no, but very down to earth. I love down to earth because it is becoming a rare commodity.

Go on the Bowman.

Edith is excellent.
I love the Colin & Edith show on Radio 1!
I voted for her last night, thought she was brilliant.

On the Radio 1 site, you get get posters for Edith supporters!!

Edith is great, I've always liked her on radio one, right from the beginning when she and Colin did weekends. I'm geniunely surprised at how good she is as a singer though.
She has been persistently dogged by lesbian rumours but isn't 'out' as far as i know.

Edith is just fab. I think that someone must have been listening and taking notes when she sang the beginning of 'Shout' at the Tsunami Concert last month! I should have put a tenner on her before FA started.

I really hope she wins.

I'm a bit confused as to why people think Edith is such a great singer as she really really isn't. Compared to some of the shrieking we are being subjected to I suppose she seems good but she is far too shouty and doesn't have a nice tone at all. Having said that, I much prefer her to Debra Stephenson who thinks she is WAY better than she actually is. At least Edith appears to be having a laugh about it all - the Corrie girl thinks she's going to win.

I think Braveheart has a amazing voice!

Edith to win, even if i think Kim or Debra will win

Her reason in the student vote at the end is always "just based on tonight's performance", a cowardly cop-out. She has no interesting opinion whatsoever, and she may be deliberately trying to avoid saying anything that anyone might object to. Or perhaps she's just naturally bland.

Her singing is good compared to most of the others, but at best she just reproduces the usual sound and feel of the song. She does nothing to make it her own. She's nothing more than a good karaoke singer.

Also, I am totally sick of the R1 "get behind Edith" campaign and the hype she is now starting to attract.

Excuse me for quoting myself, but I need to say I have totally changed my opinion of Edith, she is one of my favourites now and seems to be in there genuinely for charity - her voice is improving in leaps and bounds - she has definitely been the dark horse of this show

My opinion of Edith also changed last night. I thought her first two performances were OK, but let's face it they are quite raucous songs and someone who is on the peripheral of the rock scene should know how to make a decent fist of them.

But last night's effort blew me away. That was marvellous. There's nothing better than when a woman with a slightly throaty voice can hold a tune like that. (Well there is, but it doesn't involve singing!)

It was not totally dissimilar to Bonnie Tyler, but with Edith's less harsh voice, she managed to convey the song rather than the whole thing being one big attack (does that make sense?).

Wow!

I can't get past the fact that I've never been able to stand her on the telly or radio. She's always wound me up.

I think she's funny looking, i can see she is young but she just still reminds me of an old age pensioner for some reason.

I have to agree,
The phrase "sack the stylist" comes to mind every time she steps on stage ,
she seems to be singing edgy songs whilst dressed like Mary Poppins!

Dawn too, last night her outfit seemed totally wrong for the song.

That said , Edith and Ade are still my favourites.
