A character on EE has never suffered a stroke. I know Jim Branning had one but that was written in purely because John Bardon had one in real life.

I think it would make a great storyline if an older character such as Cora or Patrick, or maybe even a middle-aged character such as Max suffered a major stroke, and then the story could focus on the long term affects a stroke can have on a persons mental and physical health. It's never really been tackled in a soap

Emmerdale's Terry had a stroke and that storyline focused on the long term effects of it.

Okay can see the point of this thread but is it entertaining to watch somebody dribble from the mouth while peeing their pants every 5 mins until they get some nurse repairing them back to life!

Terry was done okayish in Emmerdale but then he overcame that only to be burnt and killed so defeats the whole object for me!

I don't think it would make very entertaining viewing to be honest. I'm surprised if Patricks storyline is an illness related one, unless perhaps dementia as they're doing an illness storyline with Carol at the moment.

Saying that it would also be great for the teenagers because it would raise awairness that young people can have a stoke and it could really give them a chance to shine

I detest illness storylines. I just find them utterly miserable. I deal with this shit enough in real life. I don't want to watch it on screen.

The only strokes I want to see from Patrick is when he's watching Beyonce videos on the telly.

My brother had a stroke at 45.

It should hit someone younger. It takes a lot of money to get other it.

Ian is about 45. Been thinking he is due another illness

Cora would be the perfect candidate. Would be a really interesting story, IMO.

Lol! I remember Adamski!

Killer featuring Seal, number one in 1990, it unseated Madonna's Vogue!

Now I AM old!

On topic, no strokes on EE, it would be too upsetting to watch!

That's 24 years ago last month, wow, TWENTY FOUR years!

It doesn't seem like 24 minutes ago, bloody hell, how did we get so old?
