Hi,

I am on 3 network and currently using iphone, my contract is about to end and i am thinking about upgrading it. I have been using 3 for over 8 years now and happy with their network and customer service.

My current package is unlimited internet and 600 free mins and i will stick to same plan. The upgrade i have been offered is slightly pricy, they are offering me iphone 4S 8GB or galaxy S4 on £28 a month on 24 month contract .

I think i will be better off buying sim only plan of 12 month, paying £15.90 a month with unlimited internet and 600 free mins. I can buy either iphone 4S 16GB or Galaxy Note 3 on around £300 - £350 and would still save money as compare to 24 month contract.

So which phone is better Note 3 or iphone 5s or 4s?

Neither is "better". What do you want in a phone?

what i want to know is is the BMW M3 coupé better than a Volvo articulated truck?

ETA:

i see this is only your 4th post so i shall try to be less of an ass about it.

the point that is being made is you are comparing chalk and cheese. they are very different phones. the note 3 and the iPhone 5s or 4s are not natural competitors because one is a massive phablet and the other is a tiny iPhone.

Both have touchscreens.

The Note 3 has better CPU performance, other performance you'll have to define what.

Both make calls and text messages.

I have no idea what you mean by "user friendly screen". The Note 3 "screen" is more customizeable than the iPhone but I have no idea if you'd find it "friendlier" out of the box. It doesn't seem particularly aggressive or antisocial to me anyway.

I have been using iphone 3GS for over two years now and like the Apple OS, recently i bought galaxy Note 2 10.1 but i think i don't like the look of Andriod may be i need to spend more time on it to get use to of it. Or may be i am use to of using laptops.

If you like iOS and you also have a collection of apps on iOS you've paid for and are happy with then I don't see any reason to switch unless you're desperate for a much bigger screen.

Impossible comparison, but I'd have the note personally . Depends what you want from a phone though, if you need it to be small then it's a no brainer, if you don't I think the note is a better all round device.

Been thinking of getting the s4 but my brother who has the iphone 4s and loves it and is never gonna get any other phone other than iphone. He's not a fan of samsung phones. I did look at iphone but it seems rather small. I don't agree with him that everything about it is better. The Samsung does have a 1.9ghz quad core processor compared to 1.0ghz dual core. Even mine which is sony xperia s has a quad core processor. Any reason why the iphone doesn't have a quad core?

You can't really compare processor power between iOS and Android, what is perfectly adequate for iOS would be quite underpowered on Android (though Kitkat is supposed to be less power hungry than it's predecessors).

Why not wait for the iPhone 6?

If you like iPhones, the 6 may well be out in a few months time.

I have a Note 3 and I love it but it's a very different phone to the iPhone 4 or 5, it's huge for starters but that is what I like, along with the fact that it's easier to customise.

If you want a smaller phone (but bigger than the iPhone) look at the Galaxy S5

Personally, if you like the iPhone as its easy to use, I would skip the 5 and wait for the 6 and then start making comparisons.

Better performance, what on earth does that mean?

BIB - because it doesn't need one. Why do people get so hung up on hardware specs. It's what the O/S does with it that really matters. I have an HTC One and an iPhone 5S. The iPhone beats the HTC hands down when it comes to perceived performance.

How is it 'performing' when it keeps killing apps and browser tabs?
Sounds a right pain.
