Time Buffer
I love my Humax YouView box but can't figure out if you can set it up to start and finish a recording five minutes after the start and finish time of a programme. I've noticed that a number of programmes don't start on time and I can often miss the end of a programme because seemingly the box sticks to the record times.
Hope this makes sense. Many thanks, |

Unfortunately you can't do this (it is a very much requested feature so may hopefully come in a software update at a later time). You view uses accurate recording which is supposed to adjust automatically to the programme time but this relies on the broadcast output adjusting properly which (as you have found) doesn't always happen.

This and many other features were requested by the original testers when YouView was first released (about 2 years ago) after Alan Sugar was brought in to finally get it released, very little of what was requested was ever offered and the testers were as good as ignored.

I have to say though that most of my recordings are on BBC channels. It may be that the channels you record are not so good at sending the signals when they should. Angelafisher - Do you find it worse on any particular channels? |

Try recording BBC's 'In Search of Ourselves...' at 21:00 next Friday. That slot on the BBC more often than not stops early on recorders that cannot use padding.
![]() Edited about 10 mins later: Oh found it - it's on Radio 4. Can't comment on recording radio as I've never done it. My comments were referring to TV recordings. |
