The VM wifi at Underground stations is really good speedwise especially the upload. I've often seen an LTE busting 40Mb/s up and down at Canary Wharf.

Moaning about network issues such as call drops and or no signal worked for me. I was so surprised when they mentioned the three intouch app. I didn't even think the tech support team would have been that knowledgeable. If they don't suggest it ask for the app request and they send you a private link. You'll instantly get this text
From Three: For further information on Three inTouch, please visit http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Three_inTouch

And then you have to wait for the back office team to grant access for your account tto the intouch system. You'll the get a further text with your private link. I'm awaiting mine now.

Perhaps that's when VoIP support was added natively to the OS? If there's SIP support, that could be how you'll use the standard dialler.

Good that it's out in the open now, as it means Three has at least confirmed a rough date for launch. I hope it doesn't slip due to issues found during testing.

Pretty sure native SIP support was in at least as far back as 2.3. I remember using it on my nexus one.

I had SIP support on my Nokia N95 and used to use VOIPCheap and have a landline VOIP number that would work with the mobile phone. However getting the mobile side to work with the dialler is good. With Three InTouch you get a little red or green dot in the top left of the status bar to indicate if you're connected to the phone network via wifi.

I had an n95 top and it was reasonably well integrated.

I might phone up tomorrow and get put on the beta, could be useful. Hopefully it works better than orange's UMA client ever did.

It isn't an open beta I don't think, but it's worth asking.

Lots of people seem to report that calling 333 and asking is enough.

As someone with a home signal and a need to use it elsewhere where the reception is also bad, I don't think it will take much persuasion to let me use it, as per 3's own site:

"You’ll need to call us to discuss your coverage experience if you want to be able to try it out. If you’re eligible to get our beta version of Three inTouch, we’ll send you a text with a link to download it. You need to be registered for Three inTouch on our systems for the app to work, so the download we send you to get won’t work for other people. "

I am sure my "coverage experience" qualifies. Other people must also have discussed their "coverage experiences".

I would assume the addition of "Wi-Fi calling" to iOS should work hand in hand with this?

So the App is now live in the iOS store, but it won't let me activate! 😡
Assume others are experiencing the same problem?

Yes, thanks, working now... Three must have resolved this issue at some point today.
Great to finally be able to make/receive calls at the office!
