Haha, indeed. Apple does have a patent on black rectangles after all. That said how is a patent even relevant. I Quote:
I think you're being blind to it then - do you really see marketing shots that look quite as similar as these?
And it seems ridiculous to try to argue that they don't look the same because the exact physical dimensions are slightly different is absurd. Its like arguing that the iPad Air and iPad Mini look completely different. They don't - they're just different sizes. Performance is moot, seeing as people are only talking about the appearance - and there's no getting away from the similarities there. So this idea that anyone thinking there are similarities have been brainwashed is a little offensive. Nah, he's just being biased and nationalist as usual. Pure and simple. |

What If i said it was an ipad Mini. Would you stop posting in this thread?
Like I said above, it's similar to an iPad Mini but it's not the same at all. But if you're going to say I must have been brainwashed if I think there are uncanny similarities, then I'm going to take exception to that. Like I said above, using that logic the iPad Mini isn't the same at all as an iPad AIr. Which seems an odd thing to say, as the design of both is practically identical. |

So moving on.
Apple had their massive push during Q1 this year in China. They launched the iPhone 5C and 5S on China Mobile's 4G network which has over 700 million current subscribers. Despite this it looks like Xiaomi are still selling more than Apple in China. Apple once used to be the second biggest but are now fourth whilst Xiaomi moves into third place with 10% marketshare. http://static4.businessinsider.com/i...arketshare.png |

Reports coming out are now saying Xiaomi could ship up to 80 million smartphones this year. That's more than double what they were expecting at the start of 2014.
In Q1 2014 Xiaomi shipped over 11 million smartphones with 5.8m of those smartphones being shipped in March. Xiaomi would need to ship more than 6 million smartphones per month which would make them bigger than LG in the smartphone market. Xiaomi could really become a top 5 smartphone manufacturer in the global market in no time at all. |

Xiaomi have just announced they have shipped 26.1m smartphones in the first half of the year.
So that's 11m in Q1 and 15.1m in Q2. To put that into perspective, Xiaomi shipped 18.7m smartphones in 2013 and 7.2m in 2012. This year Xiaomi are targeting over 60 million smartphone shipments. In Q1 2014 Samsung and Apple were the only brands to ship over 15m units worldwide. It is expected that other brands will grow this quarter but theoretically speaking Xiaomi are now well into the top 5. |
