The viewing audience has lost some credibiility now - Jenny Eclair or Gina Yashere should have gone. Turning to the 'drama queen' trick to disguise a crap singing voice!

Yeah I think people have probably seen enough of him for a while, particularly he is not a big star who is now best known for having been on HK!

It's Comic Relief, what else are they going to do?

Learn to sing, perhaps?

Al neither sang well nor was particularly entertaining... I'd have preferred Konnie or Reggie to go TBH but Im just glad Jon gets to go in... The fact that he's got a weird voice went against him.. he did actually sing in tune *most* of the time.. same with Nick

Al and John were, in my opinion, the two most boring, so I'm glad one of them went.

this is comic relief and the producers approached people who have no singing experience or training so l think people watching the show should bare this in mind. they are there to bring some COMEDY to the show in opposed to it being a straight pro singing show.

There is a chance that they may learn a few skills over the week or so so their voice hopefully should improve.

To be honest with you l have seen enough pop idols and other singing shows to last a life time and l think a straight up singing show for charity would have been boring.

If you actually look at the line up for the show there are FIVE comedians, FOUR presenters and THREE actresses two of which admitted to the public and the producers that they have singing experience. So that is saying something. The producers included more comedians than presenters or actresses because they wanted to ensure that comedy remained at the heart of the show and that the public would not vote out all the comedians in the early stages and leave it straight up singers.

Would have preferred Jenny to go - Al at least managed to be funny and in tune. I have issues with someone who can't even be in time getting into the next round...

I'm such a music snob, I should stop watching these shows!

Yes, HOWEVER, there's only a thin line between being funny and being annoyingly irritating! I'd rather a comedian that can be funny as well as keep in time and tone wins it...

Katherine that would be very hard to do. Trying to be funny and be a good singer. That is a contradiction. To be funny is to deconstruct the norm or go against what people expect.

If the audience expect you to be a good singer then you deconstruct that one way or another.

In this case they messed around with the performance side of things by rolling around on the floor etc. Although l must admit that Jenny's singing was atrocious. She can only go upwards from here with a bit of training.

Car crash tv!

l look forward to seeing you on fame academy next year, maybe you could give us a laugh and a good singing performance!

You are so right. I want to be amused & entertained & with so many funny guys (& gals), there should be lots of fun.

And of the non comedians, I thought that Chris's was very funny, and Edith and Reggie ware funny as well. The "boring" ones were those who sang straight - Dawn, Debra, Kim and Konnie
This is COMIC relief after all - Ruby should have won 2 years ago!

Al went because he was big headed and thought he had it in the bag - as with Hell's kitchen, he loves himself. Edith or Ade to win

Jon Culshaw should have gone. His trade is doing impressions. I can't stand impressionists. The way they can never do a straight interview without breaking into one voice or another. Jon was too pre-occupied with trying to Robbie Williams mannerisms. Obviously he cannot sing and therefore even if he could do a Robbie impression, it wouldn't be while singing a tune.

Presenters only have their own personality, actors can pretend to have alternative personalities, but impressionists only have other peoples personalities and mannerisms. Take away the impressions and there is nothing left. I think impressionists own personailities must be so empty and lifeless that they can only ever perform as other people.

Alastair Mcgowen again is another one. On '29 minutes of fame' he tries to be witty with his impressions, but when he switches back to himself, comes across as very boring and witless.

l agree. l was waiting to see how he would do the song and when l saw that he was trying to do an impression l was very dissappointed. He does not seem to have enough confidence in his own personality and voice, he prefers to hide behind other people's voices and mannerisms in order to be entertaining in this case Robbie Williams.

If he has any hope of staying in the house he will need to let down his guard and be himself. Maybe this will highlight some issues he may have. That his own personality has not developed fully. From his biography l discovered that he was doing impersonations from childhood at school which made him popular with the other kids.

l guess that is the problem with some performers, they dont know when to switch off and be themselves. All they need is one other person to be around them and they switch into performance mode.

It was his choice to do this but, if you are right, I worry about how he will survive streaming etc. I like Jon and I would hate for him to go the same way as some other fragile personalities who have been destroyed by reality TV.

I'm quite glad Al went. I don't really like him and find he comes across far too cocky. But so did a lot of the men. My favourite male so far is probably Adrian.

I think Al Murray's problem was that people were left confused as to whether he was playing a role, or that was him.

It was either over confident - or if a character, perhaps too subtle for that type of show.
