(Will be updated regularly)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alison Steadman to join 'EastEnders'

New 'EastEnders' producer Leon has confirmed that Alison Steadman is to join the show new character as Liz O'Brien. Liz is the estranged sister of newcomer Pam Coker.

Leon said of the casting, "I'm so excited that Alison has signed up to the show, she's a fabulous actress who can perform both gritty drama and wonderful humour. Pam hasn't seen her sister for fifteen years. One night, Liz was around and everything was normal, and the next morning she had disappeared. A few days later and it turned out that Liz had moved to France to marry her French lover. But what is Liz doing on Pam's doorstep after all of this time, and how will Pam and her husband Les react?"

Steadman released a statement earlier today saying: "I'm delighted to be moving into the Square, Liz seems so interesting and I can't wait to delve into her past with Pam and Les. She's definitely going to make an impact on the Square, that's for sure."

Steadman has already filmed her first scenes which are expected to air later this month.

Shane Richie axed from 'EastEnders'

'EastEnders' Shane Richie who plays loveable rogue Alfie Moon is to leave the show later this year, it has been confirmed. Richie, who has played Alfie from 2002 to 2005 before returning again in 2010, announced the news earlier today

"I'm leaving the Square again this year," he said. "It's not your typical leaving in a black cab exit, and I'm really excited to get my teeth into my exit storyline. I'll be sad to see the back of the show, I love it, but with this storyline it really is worth it."

An EastEnders insider commented: "Alfie has been a very popular character during both of his stints in the show. He provided 'EastEnders' with one of the show's greatest love stories with Kat Slater, and of course this relationship will be very prominent during his exit."

The future of Alfie's on-off wife Kat, played by Jessie Wallace, has not yet been confirmed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Khali Best to leave 'EastEnders'

Khali Best, who plays 'EastEnders' Dexter Hartman is set to depart the Square.

Best confirmed the news on his new Twitter page, tweeting: "thaats a wrap init!! bye walford (sic.)"

A show insider commented: "Dexter was never really that popular with viewers and I think Leon saw that. Khali himself knows that his character didn't make the impression on people that he hoped he would. There's no hard feelings."

Best joined the cast in January 2013 as Cora Cross' grandson and son of Ava Hartman. His storylines have included his friendship with Jay Brown, his attraction to Nancy Carter, but most notably his kidney donation storyline with his father Sam James.

Best's final scenes as Dexter air in early June.

Monday 19th May

Ian is determined to give Lucy the send-off she deserves and busies himself with some last minute preparations for the funeral. However, he becomes distracted when he looks through Lucy's room for music that he could play at the service and forgets to pick up his suit from the dry cleaners. When he realized that the dry cleaners is closed, the pressure begins to take its toll and he breaks down.

However, he is stunned when Cindy turns up a day earlier than expected and without Gina. She helps him find the perfect song to play at the funeral as she knew it was Lucy's favourite. Later, the ice between Ian and Cindy begins to melt as they share fond memories of Lucy.

Meanwhile, Shirley is furious and still hasn't spoken to Mick after he punched Dean last night, convinced that he has ruined her chances with him. Tina tries to mediate between the pair but Shirley refuses to relent until Mick has apologised, but he doesn't think he should have to. Mick and Shirley have a huge argument in front of the punters and Shirley shocks the Carters by announcing that she's moving out.

Elsewhere, Lauren has left her phone at the house and Max goes to the Beales' in search for her to give her it back. He finds himself in an awkward position, however, as Ian invites him in for a cup of tea.

Finally, Roxy tries to make Aleks jealous by flirting with Dean, Abi is furious when she arrives home to find that Tramp has eaten her revision flash cards, and Donna tries to get on Kat's good side.

Tuesday 20th May

Ian is relieved when Peter arrives at the Beale household with Ian's suit. He gets ready and goes over the eulogy he has written for his daughter over and over again. Meanwhile, Bobby, Jane, Christian, Yasmin and Syed all return to the Square for the funeral. Ian is delighted to see Jane but she makes it clear that she is going back to Christian's later that evening. Disheartened, Ian takes it out on Denise, snapping at her as she goes to get in the family car. He tells her she isn't family.

The funeral gets off to a shaky start as the car that is taking the Beales and the coffin to the church runs out of petrol, causing the Beales and Lucy herself to be late to the funeral. Cindy brightens the mood by making a light-hearted joke about Lucy being late to her own funeral, and the rest of the service goes to plan, until Ian breaks down during the eulogy. Sharon instantly steps up to support her friend and ends up reading the eulogy on Ian's behalf, getting emotional herself.

Later, at the Vic, some of Lucy's favourite songs are played at her wake and Lauren ends the night by raising a toast to her best friend.

Meanwhile, Denise is happy to see Libby as she returns for the funeral. She asks her how she's been, but before Libby can reply, a familiar face follows Libby through the door, pulling a suitcase behind her. It's Chelsea. Denise is lost for words, this having been the first time she has seen her daughter for a long time. However, Denise gets over her shock and is delighted to have both of her daughters back with her. Chelsea insists she's only staying for the rest of the week, but later on she gets a text from somebody saying, "I'll find you".

Elsewhere, Cindy starts talking to TJ but he upsets her when he suggests that nobody will want her after she has had the baby and that everybody at school is laughing at her. When Liam sees her later, he notices that she's upset and manages to get out of her what TJ said. Liam reassures her that she's beautiful and tells her that she'll be a great mum. They move closer to each other but are interrupted.

Also today, Jay receives a text from Ben and slips out of the funeral, and Carol upsets her family by saying that this could be her funeral next.

Thursday 22nd May

Shirley wakes up on Arthur's bench, having fallen asleep there the previous night, with a bad hangover.Johnny notices her when he's putting out the rubbish and begs her to come home, but she refuses, too stubborn to admit she needs her family. Later, Shirley steals a packet of biscuits and a bottle of vodka from the Minute Mart and gets drunk at the park. While she's there, a gang of teenagers start to make jibes at her, telling her she stinks. She spits at one of them and he pins her up against he wall, but Max, who is walking Tramp, arrives and punches him, causing him and the rest of the gang to run off.

Max takes pity on Shirley and offers to let her sleep on his couch for the night. Shirley initially refuses, but changes her mind before Max is about to leave her. Shirley returns to the Brannings', much to Lauren and Abi's dismay.

Meanwhile, it is the day of Carol's hen party and she's looking forward to it despite her oncologist having told her not to drink any alcohol. Bianca and Sonia work together to doll Carol up and make her feel her best, and Liam, Whitney and David all compliment her. The girls head over to the Vic to start the party, but Carol is annoyed when everybody seems to be refusing to drink. Not wanting the fun spoiled because of her, Carol buys a round of drinks for everybody.

Later in the night, Carol gets frustrated when everybody seems to be asking if she's okay and offering to do things on her behalf. She finally has enough when Pam insists that she wears her jacket. Carol takes Whitney's vodka and coke and downs it all in one go, to the horror of everybody watching. She then demands that Roxy buys her a drink on the next round.

Elsewhere, Nikki ends up having an argument with Roxy as they are both wearing the same outfit and neither one will go back home and get changed. When everybody seems to side with Roxy, Nikki downs the rest of her drink and storms out of the pub. She bumps into Terry and he takes her home to sober up. Whilst there, Nikki misreads the signals and leans in for a kiss. He pushes her away at first but gives into temptation and they both end up heading upstairs.

Finally, Chelsea is shocked to see how much Shabnam has changed since she's been away, Stan continues to flirt with Cora and Aleks bets Tamwar that he can get Tosh to kiss him by the end of the night.

Just realised I completely missed a week, the David/Carol wedding week and Liz's introduction. Yikes. Er...basically what happened in real EE happened on my version of the wedding and Liz will be introduced next week instead, along with Lauren's discovery. Remember that my version of the funeral episode wasn't the same as the real one.

Monday 2nd June

Syed and Christian are still at the Masood house despite having said they were only staying for the weekend. They both catch up with Masood and Tamwar before Christian leaves to have a drink with Roxy. After he's gone, Syed enjoys some time alone with his family as they reminisce on old times during and before they moved to Albert Square. Shabnam arrives home from work and tries to go upstairs unseen but is spotted by Masood who invites her to join them.

It is clear that Shabnam is uncomfortable, however, as the Masoods continue to talk with her now present, and after she snaps at Syed, Tamwar asks her what is wrong. She tells Syed that she disagrees with his sexuality and his relationship with Christian before leaving the room. Masood tries to go after her but Syed stops him.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is preparing to leave Albert Square after her stay, but she doesn't want to go, and nobody else wants her to go either but nobody will admit it. She packs her things and spends her last day with Denise and Libby at the park, but for most of the time she is preoccupied with her phone as she continues to receive threatening texts from somebody. Chelsea says her farewells and leaves for the tube but purposely misses it and returns. Denise asks her to stay for a few more days and Chelsea delightedly accepts.

Elsewhere, with Denise, the girls, Cora, Dexter and himself all staying at Patrick's, he starts to become frustrated by the lack of privacy in the house. To top it off, Dexter came home drunk at three in the morning and woke the whole house up and Cora has invited a friend to stay without asking Patrick. At the end of his tether, Patrick eventually demands that Cora and Dexter find somewhere else to live and move out by the end of the day.

Also today, Linda manages to annoy her whole family by throwing a welcome home party for Lady Di and Sharon is on the lookout for somebody to replace Curtis after he was sacked for giving out free drinks to friends.

Tuesday 3rd June

Ronnie is walking through the market in the morning and sees Roxy and Christian stumble out of a flat drunk and laughing after spending the night partying together. Later on, when Roxy has sobered up, Ronnie comes over and asks to spend the day watching movies with her. However, Roxy tells Ronnie that she has plans with Christian which are more important as she hasn't seen him for a long time. Ronnie gets annoyed but manages to keep her cool in front of Roxy.

Later on, Ronnie corners Christian as he comes out of the Minute Mart. She asks how long he is staying for and he says that he's staying until next Friday but that him and Syed have been talking about moving back to Walford permanently. Ronnie tells a shocked Christian that if he isn't gone by the end of the week, then Syed will "disappear" and nobody will ever find him.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is in the café waiting to meet Shabnam for a coffee when she gets a phonecall. She tells the person on the other end to leave her alone before storming out of the café with her coffee. In her rush, she bumps into Johnny and drops her coffee on the floor. She snaps at him and walks away but Johnny follows her, seeing that she is crying. After some coaxing, Chelsea tells Johnny that her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her because she left him. Is she being completely honest?

Elsewhere, Jay tries to convince Abi to take a break from her revision and spend the day with him and Lola instead. She refuses, but it's clear that she just wants to see how hard Jay will try to coax her out. He moans that exams aren't that difficult and walks out, leaving Abi frustrated and feeling alone.

Thursday 5th June

Abi cries over her breakfast, telling a distant Lauren over and over how she's sure she's failed Tuesday's exam and that she'll never get into the university she has her eye on. Lauren pretends to sympathise but is more bothered with texting Peter, causing Abi to snap and deliver some home truths. Next, she turns to Max for comfort but he tells her to go and see Jay as he is about to make a very important deal with a client.

She then tries to get hold of Jay but he won't answer his phone. Later that night, Abi returns home and starts to revise for her last exam. Frustration gets the better of her as she fails to understand something and she bursts into tears. She goes into the kitchen and quickly eats a whole cake that Lauren had bought earlier. She then drinks a lot of pop before rushing upstairs, where the sounds of her being sick in the bathroom can be heard.

Elsewhere, Phil continues to try and get into contact with Ben and Jay starts to become uncomfortable with lying to him. Ben calls him and Jay steps outside to talk to him. However, Shirley walks past the house just as Jay says, "Come home, Ben", and is startled. Jay tries to persuade her that he was talking about another Ben, but Shirley manages to make him confess that Ben has been released. Furious, she pounds on Phil's front door.

Cora wonders why Dexter has been so off with her today and ends up confronting him over it. She's shocked when he reveals that he's going to live with Ava and Sam, and even more so when he reveals that he's leaving today. Cora tries her best to put on a brave face and Dexter's friends and family send him off with a pint at the Vic, but when he is gone it is clear that she is heartbroken.

Friday 6th June

Abi has shocked herself with her actions last night and when Jay comes over with a romantic surprise for her, she comes close to telling him but decides against it. They order a pizza and plan to watch a movie together but when Jay innocently mentions Lola, Abi gets paranoid and makes up an excuse about feeling ill. She tells Jay then can do this another night and that she will share the pizza between her and Lauren and so he leaves her on her own. The pizza arrives and after staring at it in thought for a few seconds, Abi stuffs it all into her mouth and eats it as quickly as she can. Later, she goes back upstairs and makes herself throw up again.

While Abi is out, Max uses her laptop as his has been broken. He is shocked to open it and see that Abi has been on some pro-bulimia forums and confronts her about it when she gets home. Abi manages to keep her cool and insists that she was doing some research for her exams. Max eventually believes her, but Abi is later seen using the forums.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is due to leave tomorrow but she doesn't want to go back to where she was living as she feels safer in Albert Square. She eventually plucks up the courage to suggest to Denise that she moves back permanently and Denise is too delighted to wonder why she would want to. Denise tells Chelsea to ask Patrick if she can move in, and after some gentle persuasion he agrees.

Finally, Johnny's suspicions are piqued when he walks into the living room and Nancy closes her laptop quickly and rushes out. He asks her what she was doing and eventually she smugly admits that she has arranged a date for him. Johnny is annoyed at her meddling but ends up seeing the nicer side to what she has done and agrees to go on the date.
