Doctors is nominated for an international award...
The team behind the popular daytime soap are also celebrating this week after it was nominated for an international award.
Doctors has been shortlisted in the 'Melodrama' category at the BANFF World Media Awards in Calgary, Canada. The show will compete against entries from Canada, Norway, Brazil, South Korea and Hong Kong. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s1...oEtkychtAPmbBP Good to hear

It can be gritty and has some great cast members too. They have some big name guest stars as well. |

Shows up the judges in domestic awards I think if Doctors has been nominated for an international award while other british soaps/programmes haven't?

I dunno. Strictly,Dr who,Sherlock,Call the Midwife and Downton are massive in Other Countries. But they are all on a far bigger budget and have had great promotion and good time slot. Doctors hasn't. I think it's Canada &New Zealand, where Doctors is very popular.
If Doctors has been nominated and other programmes haven't, I think it does highlight that Doctors does not get nowhere near the credence it should by the "experts" even in the UK. |

That's great news! I don't always get the time to watch Doctors, but I always enjoyed it and I think it's so under appreciated by the BBC. I don't know why they've never given it an evening slot - especially when it's so popular in the daytime.
