I thought if you had an 'unlimited' package you could stream and download as much as you like?

You can,with no worries

just checked my usage and I get

Your usage for this month is 329.69 GB - 316.61 GB downloaded - 13.08 GB uploaded

Against Your average monthly usage is 246.11 GB

With 4 Sky boxes hooked up to Ondemand and 5 smart phones sucking up through Wifi is it to be expected ?

well that's light compared to mine, really depends on what you're using it for

Your usage for this month is
716.57 GB

257.55 GB downloaded
459.02 GB uploaded

It's interesting that when I was on a 10GB limited usage contract the BT usage monitor always reported a higher usage than my router and now I am on an unlimited contract it always reports a lower value than my router.

I wonder why that is?

Having said that, having just checked, it would seem that this month it is pretty much spot on.

I don't think the usage monitor is trustworthy. I renewed my BT contract about 10 days ago and was given 50GB cloud storage which I promptly filled.

Checking the usage monitor today it says I have uploaded 11GB so far this month.

I streamed both seasons of House of Cards from Netflix in 4K - that's fairly bumped up my usage this month.

If you have unlimited broadband, why should you be monitoring usage?
