I liked Jenna.

Why is Stuart Blackburn axing so many females?
He has axed like 3 male characters, and 2 females. Yeah, he keeps axing the women.

No they have to stick Gail somewhere so she can do some of her "comedy" acting which she is very bad at

When Katy's on shift at the gym, will they stick a sofa behind the counter for her to lounge around on?

She also needs some stairs to walk up and down.

Well they'll certainly need a decent sofa for Gazza to hide and weep behind, as he picks hostages at random from amongst the gym customers.

That's a good point actually - she's have been a very good choice for the gym receptionist - medical background (even if she can't practise), fit, fairly good looking and intelligent so would be able to pick up admin quickly if she doesn't already know it.

But they clearly couldn't be bothered with the character.
You would think that corrie writers who are paid considerably more than most of us, would have considered this option. It would have been worth a try at least to see if the character/actress was better in a different role/set.

Not surprised she has been axed. They've got to pay Dame Cotton's wages somehow!

No surprise; she and Mandy were disappointing retcons, created in order to make Lloyd remotely interesting. It didn't work.

But at least we had Flash, the tortoise.

I hope they give her a decent exit story line. Something a bit novel and involving some original thought from the script writers.

How about Mandy being taken ill off screen, and Jenna dropping everything to go and care for her?

Will there be stairs for her to walk up, walk down, walk up........which is her only acting skill..

about time, she's had nothing to do since the sawphie predatory debarcle & her mother leaving. Shes been a spare part practically since her arrival. its no loss. If only they would drop that axe on a few others who serve no purpose these days.

Such a shame, but it was on the cards ever since two deeply implausuble opening storylines - losing her job and then looking twice at Sophie. Perhaps the fastest character ruination in CS history. She's a good actress and the character is fine if very underdeveloped (loved her at Christmas).

Black characters are always axed in corrie no surprise
Haven't noticed this, personally.

Lloyd isn't going.

What has colour got to do with this - why bring up the question and issue of race, here?

In a few months time some of us will have that reaction if someone brings up Jenna, in fact I bet Lloyd will hardly ever mention her again (except when the actor needs to take a break and Lloyd can say he's going to stay with her).

Its funny when an axing is announced people suddenly come out of the woodwork complaining how sad it is. I never realized people gave such a toss about the character before, even these many axing character threads mostly list Jenna.

Same with Dennis Tanner, I saw comments against him calling him sponger and soup kitchen with angry smileys, the minute his axing is announced nobody has a bad word against him. Amazing, just amazing.

Be careful what you wish for is all I say.

Good point, well made.

Truth is it's just any excuse to slate Blackburn. If he doesn't axe them, they're his 'personal favourites' and 'deadwood'. If he does axe them he's a barsteward for getting rid of characters we all adore.
