Yesterday I tried my own grown New Potatoes (Arran Pilot) they were absolutely superb. You seem to forget how good they are from year to year, Jersey Royals and the Majorcan ones that are in the shops aren't a patch on these.
Anyone else grow their own?.

Not this year but I have done previously - potatoes, onions, tomatoes, chillis......
Anything you grow from absolute scratch will give immense satisfaction just like baking your own bread.
Well done
Were they in the ground or in containers/bags?
Are you attempting anything else?

Spuds grown in huge Tubs ,5 seed in each of 3. one root was enough for my Sunday dinner. I also have Runner Beans on flower grown in 3 Troughs up the trellis on my South Facing wall, I am a bit late with Beans this year due to cold wet weather.
Not having much garden I grow mostly in containers and also Flowers grown in Old Chimney pots.
Would you believe someone actually stole a Vintage Square Chimney Pot out my front garden 2 years ago. There's always one isn't there.

We have just got an allotment so we have planted some but I think we left it a bit too late(we only planted them 2 weeks ago although the packet said that was okay). We have also planted carrots, peas and sweetcorn

If you mean by some, Runner Beans its not too late, a commercial grower near me always plants his beans end of May. However I get a buzz out of being earliest with beans and Potatoes.
I don't grow as no room, one of my favourites, Broad Beans, nothing to beat them when young.
