Since FTTC Infinity 1 installation Last July we have been getting a rock solid 34Mbps IP profile, however, since the end of April this has dropped in steps to the point now where it is 20Mbps!

We are using Home Hub 4, nothing else is connected other than a laptop via wifi.

I admit I know very little about this subject and several suggestions from friends/colleagues have suggested - noise on the line, faulty Open Reach modem, faulty router although I've substituted another HH4 which was worse.

We have a BT engineer visiting this afternoon and don't want to have to pay £129.99 if its not fixed - is there anything I can try myself or any questions I can ask him when he arrives, also what will he do to look for the fault?

Having tried to read as much as I can regarding Openreach's ability to find and fix faults, frankly, I don't hold out much hope - talking to a neighbour who had them out a few weeks ago to install infinity they can't even do that properly - most of them seem to only want the easy jobs.

Thank you.

I'm sure they'll sort it for you , it could be anything but at least you have an Openreach engineer booked.
