Hi all this is my first thread ive been reading these forums for years and finally gave in and joined the madness haha anyway now with Lucy having left and Jane and bobby not back until the end of the year do you think DTC should bring in some new members of the Beale family to give it more depth and bring new life into the family and I think its about time we got some new members and the possibilities are ends they could bring in a new matriarch or patriarch for the family in Dora or Harry Beale? or Elizabeth Beale could return with a husband and some kids and then of course theres Vicki,Martin and Michelle.
I'd love to know what you all think

Welcome to the forum!

I'd welcome more Beales, personally I think next year would be an ideal time for Stephen Beale to return. With Ian still missing Lucy he would probably want Stephen back in his life, however Jane won't be so accommodating.

I have always wanted Gillian Taylforths sister to pop up as Kathys sister Steph. Kim was in Bad Girls as Jim Fenners wife

Actually, (you will be amazed at this) with the Butchers/Wicks clan being depleted I have decided that the Moons/Slaters can stay.

I want Jean and Ollie to return however. I would like Ollie and Alfie to go into business together running a taxi firm that Ollie tries to keep legit. Jean would be on the phones (how much fun would they have with that!) with some assistance from Mo. However when Bob the new owner of the Pawn shop makes a deal with Alfie things take a dark turn. Bob wants Alfie to supply him with address where Alfie knows the house will be empty as he has taken the family to the airport for a holiday. Bob then gets his son Bob Junior (BJ) to burgle the houses and he sells the stuff in the pawnshop. When BJ gets arrested, Bob blames Alfie and tells him Alfie owes him, Alfie then has to use the cars to distribute the drugs around and to launder money through the taxi firm business, without Ollie knowing.

Ian had a secret shag with Mel the night before she left and she has his child out there somewhere.

I think the focus is right at the moment - on Ian and Peter.

Jane, Cindy and Bobby are all due to return (presumably full time) later in the year so I don't see why more would need to return in the interim time.

The fall of of Lucy shenanigans is going to come out, the whole Denise/ Ian thing is going to come to aheard and the focus should be on Peter and Ian for the current time in the family.

Lol. That idea would make the Philth shagging mel scene look like the beach scene from here to eternity lol

I think they should finally start to use Harry and Kenny Beale before they die! They must be old now! Shouldn't waste these two, the more older characters the better!

Welcome to the Forums, have a nice time

Too bad she was already pregnant with Steve's child before she left.

I think additions would be good idea there is plenty unexplored Beales but not just yet.

I'd like to see Ian discover he has a long lost daughter, the Beale family is dwindling with just him Peter and Bobby and rather than bring in random aunts, uncles and cousins it would be better to stick with Ian's immediate family. Maybe next year for the shows 30th Ian and Sharon could attend a school reunion, it will actually be 30 years since the left school so will fit perfectly, Ian could bump into his ex-girlfriend Tina Hopkins who he dated in 1987 and she reveals she has a 27 year old daughter by him. He could even be a grandfather. The father-daughter dynamics between Ian and Lucy was far more interesting than his relationship with Peter, they could recapture that by giving him another daughter.

New Beales should have been brought in years ago. I don't know why every other family can have long lost relatives show up but the Beales can't. The closest they got was Lou Beale's Irish relatives and they're better best forgotten. Ian has never been likeable or strong enough to carry the Beales. An older patriarch or matriarch should be brought in to head up the clan. Ideally this should have happened when Pauline died.

I absolutely agree! Bring in new Beales! Seriously though, the Beales are THE original Enders family, and there should always be a Beale/Fowler in the show. If there wasn't, it just wouldn't be Eastenders for me. They've always been there, simmering in the background.

I agree Ian isn't strong enough to lead the Beales. It really is too bad that Gillian Taylforth and Michelle Collins have become available just when their characters would be most likely to return - but they can't.

I'm open to all kinds of suggestions for the new characters. I think the one about Tina Hopkins' daughter is inspired!

I've had my own theory for a while. If Lucy is supposed to have this secret life, what could be a bigger secret than that she had a child while in Devon. It would explain the change in character from Melissa to Hetti and be the big secret Cindy has been hiding for Lucy. The dad could be the elder brother of the boy Peter left to drown. I really wouldn't be surprised if they brought in a young single dad, and BOOM - Ian, you're a grandfather! Doof! Doof! Obviously it would be a little girl, Louise or Olivia maybe? If Cindy has a little girl called Lucy, I'll scream. I really think something like this will happen. After all, we're meant to discover secrets about Lucy after her death, so why not?

This would just be an aside, though. I want some more adult Beales, preferably a long lost daughter for Ian. Or they could bring back Ian and Ben's cousin Tony, who was bisexual and in a relationship with Simon Raymond - Tiffany Mitchell's brother, which could also pave the way for Courtney to return.

I think the surname of a new character is the least important factor, they need to plan ahead with decent stories when introducing new cast members

She ended up pregnant with twins, one Steve's and one Ian's.
