Just over a year ago in the midst of the Clevon Martin story she railed against guns and everyone who owns one!

Now she puts this "Run" video out and it's full of guns and violence!

What gives Miss B, you can't have it both ways?

A true Hypocrite!!!!!!

I love Beyonce, but she DOES have a hypocritical side to her.

For example, when she was doing the video for her single Pretty Hurts, she spoke about the pressures young women have to look perfect all the time and how beauty doesn't make you happy, it's on the inside etc yet the previous year she tried to BAN all unflattering pictures of herself from the Super Bowl to be published? Double standards or what?

It's hardly the same thing...

I'm against gun crime in real life but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy action films/games. Nor is this video going to suddenly make gun crime rates skyrocket.

You could probably have used a better example than that.

She's under pressure to be beautiful all the time, which is why she wanted them down, and is what the song is about.

There's quite a few celebrities who tend to spout platitudes in order to be seen to be saying the right thing to their adoring public who want to see them saying all the right things. But are then later observed to not be true to their own words.

Maybe to maintain celebrity some of them think that they just have to keep talking in order to fill airtime or column inches with their words, even if what they are talking about is complete bullshit.

How is she hypocritical by doing that?! Many people who star in films and tv are against guns and weapons, yet if you're telling a story or acting then sometimes you migh be asked to use them. She's just playing a part in a video.

I think you may want to watch the video again and listen to the lyrics, especially the last bit!

It's not being hypocritical at all. Just Beyoncé playing a part and showing how smart she really is. Although her running style has suffered a little.

I find Beyonce one of the most unlikable pop stars of the last 30 years or more. It is all way too slick, a little preachy at times, and lacks soul. She is a brand, a machine, and I find there is nothing for me to connect with her.

Unless she's glamourising guns in the video (I haven't seen it; is she?), I don't think it can be considered hypocritical.

She probably is a hypocrite (people in positions of wealth and 'power' usually are), but this may not be one of those times.

I like some of Beyonce's music but I agree with this. She's not like Katy Perry or even Britney, who are not pretentious and are very genuine. They also don't preach either.

Britney sh*ts all over Beyonce.

I find all of Beyonce's music to be terrible and all she does is scream through her songs.

Thank you! That's exactly what I thought when I saw that trailer/video.

No. I'm no fan of any of these pop artists at all. But I can clearly see that Beyoncé is far, far more talented than Britney. I seriously struggle to think of anyone who success outweights their actual talent in such a massive ratio than Britney.

You may not like Beyonce's music...but at least she can sing it! Britney is just a robot who can't sing live, can't dance and sing at the same time, looks attrocious in the outfits she wears, has no stage prescence, moves lazily around the stage. Beyonce s**** all over Britney any day.

I don't think Beyonce is any more of a hypocrite than any other human. The whole point of Pretty Hurts, and why I think it is so effective is that she's a part of the machine that she's critiquing, which makes for a multi-layered experience which is much more interesting than some mouth piece for feminism who's never lived and never faltered. She aspires to break free from the machine, and surely that's better than having no self awareness or intelligence at all.

Just calling her a hypocrite I think will make less people inclined to take a stand seeing as they feel that to do so they have to be perfect. I don't see why it has to be an all or nothing kind of approach to morality. People criticise Beyonce for being perfect, but on this last album at least she shows that she isn't and how much of a struggle it is to give the impression of perfection. She kind of reminds me of Bree Van de Kamp from Desperate Housewives in that respect: inconsistent, contradictory, but with depth and is much more interesting as a result.

Beyonce is overhyped and has no personality or originality. Her voice is dull and so are her songs.

You've just described Britney there though. All her songs are just computerised crap. She can't sing live and doesn't even bother to attemmpt to anymore and she can't dance to save her life. As for personality...she's a non-entity and dead behind the eyes now. There was a time when she was a decenet bubblegum pop star, but that was a long, long time ago. Now she's just a robot.

I agree. I like some of Beyonce's music but I'd rather listen to Britney's albums than Beyonce's, although I did like Beyonce's new album. At least Britney isn't pretentious and she makes good pop music. Her sound has evolved with every album. I still think Blackout is her best though OK, Britney Jean was pants but on the whole Britney's albums are pretty good.

Wouldn't describe a woman who suffered a serious and public breakdown a robot. I would say that about a woman who watches her sister beat up her husband.

Love both women's but let's not pretend Beyonce some deep soul. See PETA ambush dinner on YouTube.
