I've never been able to find old episodes of FC. Any of the ones I find always have new dialogue dubbed over the original to make it funnier.

It's not a full episode but here's part of the very first episode including an enthralling scene about an egg http://www.rte.ie/archives/exhibitio...ity-episode-1/
From this and from memory, the first cast included Rita, Hannah, the Doyle kids, Barry & Mary O'Hanlon, Paddy & Anne Clarke, Paul, Lily, Johnny One, the Kellys, a blonde woman called Linda and I think Kay's husband running the pub. If I'm not mistaken, Bela didn't show up at the very beginning but joined later but I may be wrong. I have a feeling that he & Rita were separated when the show first began and he returned to try and win her back. Despite being a glorified extra in later years, Rita was quite prominent in the shows early years. Bela was a bit of a player too & I think he had a fling with Linda who was seeing Barry at the time. There was a plot involving Linda losing a baby I think that may have been Bela's. This is all from memory so I could be wrong. Characters prominent in the early 90's were McCoy's landlady and Fair City's first of many priest shaggers Kay McCoy and Hughie Phelan (Christy's brother & worker in Pizza Action) and his wife Natalie. Looking at cast interviews, the early years of the show were pretty dire with the guy who plays Paul saying that he was embarrassed about admitting that he worked on the show but felt proud of the show as it progressed. |

Incidentally, this September marks the show's 25th anniversary. I wonder will they be doing anything big for it or bringing anyone back for it? While they have little or no connection to Carrigstown now and I don't actually watch the show, I'd tune in to see Anne Clarke and Kay McCoy return for 90's nostalgia purposes only.

Thanks for all the character details it would be great if they could reunite the entire Doyle family for the 25th anniversary and get the likes of Barry,Kay and some of the Kellys to add to the nostalgia |

Louise Doyle is back, so that could be start of the Great Doyle Return. I really hope they do something to mark the anniversary too, and I'd love if the Bishops returned en masse.
