Double Recordings
Set the Humax Foxsat HDR up to record the Chelsea Flower Show programmes. It has recorded both the SD and HD versions and, oddly, despite being in the West Midlands, the Y & L version of BBC1SD!
Info obtained by pressing the "i" button in the "Media" listing of recordings made. 108 BBC1HD 20/5 1500-1545 967 Y&L 20/5 1500-1545 102 BBC2HD 19/5 2000-2100 109 BBC2Eng 19/5 2000-2100 108 BBC1HD 19/5 1929-2000 (sched 1900-1930) 967 BBC1Y&L 19//5 1929-2000 (sched 1900-1930) |

The BBC will have screwed up the series/accurate recording crid codes.

Yes, I thought that. I assume, also, that not too many folk are interested in CFS on the forums, since no-one has mentioned it.

On freesat ch 101 is SD but ch 102 is HD, they are adjacent so you might set both to record series.

Only HD versions of channels were selected. Someone on uk.tech.digital-tv mentioned a similar occurrence for him last week. So some sort of beeb CRID cockup I think. I've complained, so it'll be interesting to see if anyone technical replies!

FFS! It's done it again. I definitely ONLY set BBC1HD to record the 1500-1545 programme. Started up and is recording BBC1HD and BBCNIHD. The schedule is showing only BBC1HD (108) scheduled to record the 1500-1545 slot and BBC2HD (102) the 2000-2110 one.
What the heck is going on? |

What the heck is going on? If so can you post the series and programme crid codes for each of the Chelsea Flower Show codes. I will have a look at my Foxsat to see if I can spot the issue. |

All the SD versions of the 1500 transmission have the following codes
Series fp.bbc.co.uk/MB1XWO Programme fp.bbc..co.uk/23VM69 BBC 1 HD England Series fp.bbc.co.uk/TWQH9K Programme fp.bbc..co.uk/23VM69 Different series so SD are ignored for the HD reservation. BBC HD Scotand Wales and NI omit the fp.bbc.co.uk. At a guess the box thinks this is a different programme so records the first one it finds in the epg. |

Powergen took over the building after privatisation (I go back a long way). You must have worked for the BBC.

Well Chelsea was heaving, as expected. The programmes were very useful as we rarely got a chance to get to the front of any garden!
The double recordings continued whilst we were away with the BBC2 ones recording BBC2Eng (SD) and BBC2HD. The BBC1 ones were BBC1HD and BBC1NI (SD). I've not yet received a reply to my complaint to the BBC, so I'll wait a while and do a FoI. Whilst working for the beeb as a Broadcast Engineer I was lucky enough to manage the English Regions DTV studio centre transmission system technical support (Coding and Mux). That's all been ripped out now and moved to centralised Coding and Mux. Along with R & D at Kingswood Warren being closed down and moved to Salford or W12 all my old contacts have gone too ![]() STOP PRESS: Standard form reply just received from BBC: " Thank you for contacting the BBC Reception Advice Service. We note that your contact is in reference to Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) and Recording functionality. Unfortunately we are unable to answer specific questions about the EPG service. However, we can assure you that your comments have been fully registered and a fault report passed to the correct team within the BBC. If a problem is found to be a widespread issue, we will put further information on the BBC Reception website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception. If you missed any programming you may be able to view the content on BBC iPlayer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer " |
