I have read several reports that casting from a slingbox to a chromecast (via chrome browser) does not work and all you get is a blank screen.

I tried this and got same problem. I then tried it using the experimental fullscreen mode of the chrome browser (you have start chromecast first and then slingbox webplayer and answer yes to sharing screen)

you are now casting slingbox output to a tv.

only issue i have is it will not view in widescreen. sling player software allows you to adjust and all gets squashed in horizontal plane. original satellite source is 16:9

Aspect ratio problem is now sorted. There is a setting button to change it but it was hidden under the windows taskbar. I have to scroll screen slightly (or autohide task bar) to get at button.
