Can't turn on Panasonic TV
Ok so I can't find my handet anywhere and the TV won't turn on it goes into standby mode (red light) but without the remote it won't turn on. I brought a universal remote to try and solve this but it seems the TV needs to be on to set it up lol
Any tips would be greatly received been 5 days without TV now |

Have you tried pressing any of the buttons on the TV (if it has them)? 'Channel +' or 'channel -' often turn on the TV.

Is there a button on the rear of the display that will turn it on?
What does the manual say? What is the make/model failing the above? |

I think the OP is reading the instructions for the universal remote control which say to turn the TV on then see which code or codes from the list for that make turn the TV off. As you say, not absolutely necessary.

I've never heard of a TV that doesn't have an On/Off button somewhere. I know they can be well disguised in some sets but I'm sure there always is one.

It would appear that the OP has given up watching TV

Perhaps the advice should have been to look under the sofa for the original "handet".

There certainly are some strange and disorganised people around. Whenever I buy a new TV I always go online and buy another remote control for it and an OEM one at that!
However, it appears to be a common (annoying and impolite) failing on forums |

There's an android app for my tv (although I'd only use that whilst waiting to get a replacement).
