Please don't let Shirley be Mick's mum. I love the Carter unit and as they and this would be way too messy. Shirley would be Linda's mother-in-law.

My final two predictions:

We find out that Shirley is actually Mick's mother.

We find out that the incident led to Tina and Mick going into care and we find out something about Mick's time in care.

I don't think Shirley is Mick mum (They might do something like oaks did last year, where everyone thought Jack was Joe dad but turned out that Sandy was Darren mum!))

Huge potential. Linda is an amazing actress and will do this well. This could be so different to the Kat and Zoe storyline. That was about child abuse and family secrets. Who knows what this story could hold.
