How do we actually make a bid ? I have tried, I think, but without success and what does tie order mean please ?

Under the auction status tab, click on your own team name. This will bring up a list of players. Click on the player you wish to bid for and you'll be able to enter the amount.
In the tie order, I'm 3, you're 15. Taking Joe Hart as an example. If we were the only two people to bid for him and we both bid 1m, I would get him being lower in the tie order. This order. is reversed for the next round.

Also, just in case anyone was wondering, the 1 in the last bid column is for my benefit. It means I can see that Darren has submitted his bids for this round (although don't worry I cannot see what his bids are!).

As always I'm nervous with the opening bidding and convincing myself I'll end up with hardly anybody I've gone for. It was actually quite tough on just a 100 million, find yourself trying to tie up the odd extra million to try to get your more important player. Out of the 15 I've gone for I reckon I might only end up with about 5 or 6. Ultimately the opening round bidding could be the most important part of the game to set yourself up for a shot at winning.

Unlike with most fantasy football games this one enables you to pick a different starting 11 for every different kick off time. So say there were two matches kicking off at 2pm, one match kicking off at 2:30pm and another three matches kicking off at 3pm. You're able to pick totally different teams for each set of matches (no matter how many matches are in each set).
This essentially means its highly likely that you can play your entire squad of 15 players for all of their matches; so having a good squad is more important in this than having a strong starting 11 and then 4 weak subs who are unlikely to do anything.

Yep, it's one of those things that if I gave you a month to make your bids you'd likely spend everyday slightly tinkering with them!
Especially with having so many teams in the league this year, I really have no idea how it'll go and what level of player to aim for. I reckon there's every chance someone won't get a sinlge player in the opening auction

Just to make sure you guys are all aware once I've put the league into auction mode the player lists are set. Due to injuries and some of the 23 man squads not being finalised till the last minute this means some of the players on the player list might not actually be going to the tournament.
I doubt people would be making bids for most of the players that have been left out but there are a few notable exceptions, such as VDV being omitted for Holland.
Just something worth checking with your bids.
