Jase doesn't have enough work or big enough contracts to warrant a yard that size...
Tony the part time Dad might have bought it but who's going to pay the running cost...

Business Rates, Electricity, Water... doesn't come cheap you know...

It's all going to come crashing around his ears...

Rubbish! I definitely glimpsed a loose slate on the Kabin roof the other night and Gail's fence has a wobbly panel too.

He'll be coining it, you just wait and see.

Owen managed to keep it running on blood sweat and tears over the years. Mostly tears.

I too wonder how he's going to keep it running when he only ever works within a 2 street radius.

You need to keep a beady one on that OJ character Chas - she's in on it I've heard, like the Sheriff is in a ghost town mate.

One thing I would have kept on is Katy in the office. Whenever work was a little quiet it's something to fill the time.

I could tell you all about the delights of Stockport, but I'm no longer speaking to you after your earlier insult, so you'll never know now.

There's three places everybody dreams of visiting isn't there.

New York, Australia, and Stockport.

Exactly. And I visited Stockport today, so only two to go for me.

Ease it back a tad there OJ, there's some here yet to visit all three.
No one likes a boastful gal.

I myself visited Stockport, didn't get invited over to OJ's like - but I still drank a few pints of mild an that, indeed I'm still trying to get all the fur off my skin.

It's a canny place if you like 1940s Britain.

Endless supply of work there. Being the only competent builder in Manchester he could make a fortune damaging peoples houses and being the only that knows how to hang a doorframe properly. Proper smart businessman is Jason.

But what EXACTLY is the yard. All it appears to be is an empty space downstairs to keep tools with stairs leading up to an office. Thats it.

It aint no builders yard.

Yes indeed. And don't forget that Audrey's house needs work done to it - or have the writers forgotten that?

Sorry Pete, but I'm not having that. The builders yard is the centre of commerce in all of Greater Manchester, or failing that, Western Europe. It might look like a shabby toolshed with a desk, filing cabinet, and some stairs for Fit Katy to use to the untrained eye, but to us seasoned professionals we see the internal workings of a global construction empire.

Deals have been struck on those hallowed grounds, and index linked mutual bonds forged and traded in a structural manner so complicated even I can't explain them. It may be a touch hyperbolic, but I'll have you know that we would still be in the midst of a global recession were it not for the tireless efforts of 'Crybaby and Sons', later acquired by Phelan Industries.
