Hi
Just wondered if anyone could shed a little light on what has happened to my television. I have a Toshiba 32BV801B which gets light use as it is only the bedroom set. (Yes, I know it is probably a crappy Vestel inside, but it is great for what we want it for).

Last week for some unknown reason all three HDMI ports stopped working. They were working fine the night before but next day nothing. I carried out various tests, eg. Swapped HDMI cables, tested other things in the ports, tested things on other TV’s and even tried a hard reset. To no avail!

Just wondered if it was something simple or a full blown repair, which is probably not worthwhile. I would like to get them going again as the picture through HDMI was really very good but now using through scart it is pretty ropey. Any ideas?

Can only offer general advice.

1 Try turning off the mains power to the TV for about 30 mins.

2 If that fails then look for a menu option on the TV that restores the TV to the state it was delivered in (Factory Reset. Default Settings etc).

Faults like this may be just a software problem, perhaps due to\ a mains glitch corrupting the box memory.
