Smith and Tennant were sublime together. I hope it isnt another 50 years untill we see them again.
John Hurt, well..It's John Hurt. Just point the camera at guy and its gold.
The humour in the 50th was delicious, especially from Smith and Tennant.
The Zygon story was the glue that connected the whole caboodle together, though it did begin to sag towards the middle.
The big WOW moments, the battles on Gallifrey, 'All thirteen of them' and the likes were great fanboy moments..
The timey wimey elements linking the 3 Doctors together worked well.
Matt Smith was phenomenal in it.
I loved using 'Rose' as The Moment.
So, as a balls out fanboy 50th. I loved it. Steven Moffats finest work for a long long time.
A few negatives...well what do you expect
Whist I fully understand Mr. Moffats 'rewriting' of the established final events of the time war as we understood them, it still all ties in nicely and makes perfect sense, so massive kudos for that. Mr. Moffat is right, The Doctor would not have pushed the button, ('A Coward, every time') But I still have a little love/hate thing going on with it that I cannot quite explain. I think there is a part of me that thinks all three Doctors should have pressed the button and that it had always been that way. I don't know, something doesn't sit right with me, but again I fully understand why it was done.
Eccleston's no show for the Regeneration. Just imagine that powerful face emerging from The War Doctor's, completely distraught at the thought of what he has just done. It would have been the icing on the cake for this fan.
But if I had to change one thing and one thing only. The frankly awful slow mo hero walk of the 3 Doctors emerging from the painting.
Those personal fanboy things aside, I thought the 50th was pretty marvellous, a truly great Who romp of an episode. I still have it on my Sat box in fact.
Loved the 3D Dalek stalks coming right out of the TV screen and the Dalek Emperor spinning away from the big bang Darth Vader style.
