quick question HO/EE

We keep seeing storylines where a sibling turns out to be the parent of a child (Kat/Zoe in EE) (Leela/Perri in HO) or slightly different (Leyla/ Alicia/ Jacob in emmerdale), but can any tell me the legality of this. Private adoption isn't legal in the UK and although you could give your parents legal responsibility of your child it wouldn't change their birth certificate where the sibling would still be named as parent. I am so confused how people keep getting away with these storylines.
Tia.

From other hand: how often do you need your birth certificate? Peri is only 14, so parents would apply for passport for her.

This is true, but in EE Zone was in her 20s wasn't she. Are you seriously telling me she never once looked. Also wouldn't the parent named on the birth certificate have to be the person that enrolled them in school or given consent for trips etc?

In regards to this, no. When my mum died I lived with her sister as my dad lived 350 miles away and I was mid gcse's. My aunt signed everything for school as she was my guardian even though I had a parent. When I enrolled my kids in school I didn't have to prove anything to my memory. No birth certificates that would show I was their mum (or wasn't in peri's case).
Check it out
