Your Ideal Prince setlist?

I have now seen Prince twice live

21 night at the O2
Hit and Run part 2 tour

....

he remains one of the best live acts that i have seen

he has stage presence, great vocals and musicianship albeit with a modest visual set.... although the lights, smoke and fireworks are fantastic. He is the loudest act that i have ever seen.

Look out for Exodus by NPG as well.

You can't really go wrong from his 3rd album Dirty Mind up to Lovesexy, all classics. Though I do like the Come album as one of my favourites.

Do the majority of fans actually want material after 1995?

Bit of a rhetorical question.

I saw Prince in 1992, and he was just fantastic. I wouldn't care what was on his setlist, as he would give each track he performed 100%, as he always seems to do. I would have loved to have seen him in the UK this year, but the distance to the gigs were too far for me to afford to go 😓

Another ideal for me would be a small venue, with just P and an acoustic guitar, no specific setlist just taking requests from the audience.

the closest to that was kings row in feb for the accoustic q&a or the accoustic night at paisley park in 2002. he didn't really answer any questions in the q&a. it would just end up pandemonium trying to take requests from the audience

I came across this a while ago, recorded for VH1 by the looks of it:

^ that was about as close as he got to an unplugged special. it wasn't all acoustic and the acoustic section was only 5 short tracks. kings row was similar, not all acoustic, he did a few acoustic and then went plugged in, and repeated this for the second show which was even shorter. he had an acoustic guitar onstage during the first Manchester show in feb but didn't use it and it was removed from stage part way through. kings row was the only time he used the acoustic in the 2014 shows. so getting an acoustic set is a rare treat. he did a mid show short set during the musicology tour which was cool. now he prefers the sampler set over that. he actually did the sampler set at Ronnie scotts second show. mind the vips preferred that bit as they didn't know most of the stuff in the first show which was excellent
