I have been using the Co-op own brand full salt butter as it has plenty of taste but i would not use it all the time.

A mate of mine uses that and when I have toast there I have it on my toast and it is fine, but when I got some myself and I tried it at home, I did not think much of it. strange really.

Sainsburys basic is ok and now they put it back down in price I will start buying it again. at the moment Sainsburys own branded butter is a squid and that is better than their basic.
Lurpak Salty? i found it bland.

I know what you mean about the salting...

I use the unsalted butter for sauces and ...well I want to say baking.... but I'm not a baker.... The unsalted butter I buy is used in sauces mainly.

I love my lurpak (when it's in the fridge and affordable for me). Lurpak is a lovely thing I get to enjoy now and then

Whatever's saltiest. Currently using some sort of Guernsey butter (2% salt, which seems to be the highest salt content that's easily found).

I generally just buy Asda's unsalted butter. I've tried brand names in the past and I can't really taste any difference.

My grandmother would only buy kerrygold, takes me back to my childhood if I have that.
Usually now I have spread rather than butter.

Kerrygold er? That takes me back as well. spread got too much junk in to be honest. I used to have spread as i thought too much butter was bad for you, but after seeing what is in spread, I think butter is better.

I tried the new Flora Gold today. It tastes a lot better than other products they made but it leaves a waxy feeling in the mouth and the taste gets a lot more bitter after 20 mins even a nice cup of tea didn't remove the wax feeling.

You need some better butter.... like Betty Botter did!

Quote:
“Betty Botter bought some butter;
"But," said she, "this butter's bitter!
If I put it in my batter
It will make my batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter
Will but make my batter better.
"Then she bought a bit of butter
Better than the bitter butter,
And made her bitter batter better.
So 'twas better Betty Botter
bought a bit of better butter.”

I like goat's milk butter. Or sainsbury's slightly salted organic butter.

I used to love going to my grandma's every Saturday, and having toast done on a open fire with lashings of lurpak butter, since my hubby came on the scene I've became a Anchor girl...

I never knew Lurpak was so popular. I only tasted it for the first time a couple of years ago.

I find it a bit lacking in taste personally.

I'm with gemma-the-husky. £1 unsalted 250g from Asda but now I've discovered Heron also sell unsalted for £1. Bought a pack of Countrylife there yesterday and previously a small english dairy unsalted butter that was delicious. Heron sell 250g packs of Lurpak for £1 as well but it's not in stock all the time. I also find Lurpak lacking in taste and don't buy it. Heron's really cheap on all dairy products.

Aldi unsalted is great for cooking / baking and only 95p. For spreading I think Lurpak is unbeatable, nice and creamy, not too salty and a nice subtle flavour that doesn't overpower everything else

I only use butter for making buttercream. Lurpak salted is my favourite.
