I'm delighted too. The Gail has been hugely entertaining for me for decades and Helen Worth has done a fantastic job.

Thinking back to some of the dramatic sls she has been at the centre of for all those years, I do feel a bit sorry that in recent years they have made her into more of a comedy character, which personally I don't think is really her forte and does her no favours.

I do hope Deirdre is up for it next year - I think she is much better at combining both high drama and comedy sls.

Yes well done to Helen. She looked really good at the awards. much better than some of the younger actors.

Wonder who gave her the award? It's usually someone connected to the character.
'Sheila Grant' gave it to 'Jimmy Corkill'
Curly gave it to Vera.

Richard Hillman would've been a hoot! lol

Really pleased for Helen. She's a lovely lady.

It was Brian Capron and a casting director.
And i agree completely deserved it.

Ha! I was right, she got it from Richard Hillman. Very fitting!

Once he appeared it would've been obvious who it was for, anyway!

Staying in a job, sucking up to your new boss and not rocking the boat, is not a great achievement .

Absolutely thrilled for Helen.

I always love the fact that Gail was brought in as a 'bit' character to help prop up Tricia Hopkins for just a few episodes in 1974. 40 years later, she's one of Corrie's biggest ever characters!

...maybe not but I think Gail is a great Corrie character (brought to life by Helen Worth) and her award is well deserved imo.

I was very pleased to hear about this award and look forward to seeing her get it tonight. I know there has been hoo-ha about the BSAs, but this award and the best actor award are the ones that make me smile, and happy to see deserving winners, BSAs have done enough for me.
Well done Helen.

I'm pleased for her too, Gail has reinvented herself lately too, plenty of mileage too, I'd like Anne Kirkbride to be recognised too

Thoroughly deserved. Gail is one of the show's most iconic characters who's been involved in some of the
soap's best storylines- Brian's murder, Sarah's underage pregnancy, the Hillman Years, Demon David, Manchester Tart, Lewis' s con etc.

I would have liked to have seen Helen Worth and Anne Kilbride get the award jointly; they are both stalwarts of Coronation Street.

Yes, well done to the Gailster, who also slipped very nicely into that frock of hers I notice.
She looked a million dollars.

All that gym stuff she's done whilst stalking Nick obviously paying off handsomely.

Hopefully Nick will come to his senses now and finally realise what a cracking bit of skirt he's got there right under his nose.
