Gutted for Emmerdale
They had a great year. Some blistering story lines and acting yet come away with hardly anything at awards.

Delighted and relieved that all their hard work paid off with the Woolpack Siege and Flood though. Tbh, it was always going to be tough going up against Corrie's Roy/Hayley sl and the brilliant acting involved in that. Without that I wonder if Jeff Hordley may have had a chance in the Best Actor category? Maybe next year eh? ![]()

Every person I have asked agrees on the same thing;
'Emmerdale is a vastly underrated soap' |

It's an open vote so deserved exactly what it got.
ED did not have a great year by any stretch of the imagination. A great ending to the Cameron does not equal a great year. Before that it was dire and this year has been an atrocious embarrassment with some of the worst, most boring dragged out stories they've ever had along with some truly desperately bad acting from the likes of Val, Eric David, Alicia, leyla, Ruby and the Spencers. The cringefest that is Robbie and dire Finn Barton is another total embarrasment. I keep saying it but it'll never win awards when it keeps hamming it up with panto style characters and acting and humour that belongs to another era and i most definately do include the atrocious and deeply unfunny Kerry in all of that. It needs a producer who is living in 2014. |

I'm surprised Dominic Power never won best villain, but I wouldn't say Emmerdale's had a great year, the only story which had me gripped was Cameron's storyline. I do think without the death of Hayley they may have won more awards for that story.

I personally found the Hayley death story, boring and so predictable. It was really just a rerun of Emmerdales Jackson euthanasia story. All Sb's fault of course...if he had an original idea, he'd probably pass out with the excitement. Emmerdale's Cameron storyline, was gripping and had me on the edge of my seat. I honestly think it should have won more than one award.
