Went to loads in the 80s and got rare stuff. What are your memories?

i haven't been in a long time but back in the day i lined up early to get in first to get the best stuff, but then got friendly with the right people and got in before opening to snag the goodies. it was the place to get bootlegs and cheap cds and rare vinyl. i also met a few long time friends at record fairs, as you would get talking to people who were always there browsing the same boxes as you. it was also interesting to go to record fairs in other cities and know the people behind the stands and chat to them and not feel alone. great times!

I used to go to a lot of these, always found something good and I'd forgotten all aboyut them until I read this. I used to see the same people at each one and we'd be on nodding terms. They were often a bit chaotic but brilliant.

Went to some a few years ago and a background in rugby or wrestling comes in handy. Wonder how they'll manage when all people have is downloads!
