Dreary Barlow
There really is no other character like her in soap. She has so many oddities and is a complete one off. I think our Dreary is a great character. The perm, the glasses, the scratchy smokers voice, the neck, the battered cleavage, the wart, the chain-mail belts, the tweed costumes. Even her name is slightly amusing. I think she has really come into her own since Blanche and Ken left. The moment where she brought out the cake at Tracy and 'Roy's' engagement was hilarious, especially since Tracy and Roy were married before.
Any fellow Dreary fans out there? |

Yes I think she is brilliant, I have preferred her without Ken but must admit I am looking forward to their holiday

I am a fan of Deirdre.
It has been nice to see her flourish in her own right these past few months. In the past Deirdre has always been a support for Ken or Blanche, or Tracey, so it's nice that she has taken centre stage in her own right. |

Deidre is a great character. and briliantly played by Anne Kirkbride. I was disappointed not to see her at the awards on Sunday as I would like to have seen how she dresses in real life. Was she there? I think she deserved a special award for all the pleasure she has given us (and for putting up with Tracy all these years !!).

I LOVE HER! My fave soap character I think. ANd I can't wait for Ken to come back. I think she's always been funny with Ken around too. I mean just look at the pottery classes xD

Anne is a brilliant actress and severely underused. Over the years Deidre has had some brilliant storylines, but I think they're a little limited as to what kind of nice storylines they can do now she's a bit older.
I'm not sure I like the idea of her becoming the new Blanche - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Actually, I'd like to see her develop dementia at some point. Has there ever been a regular character with a mild dose of it before? They could go back and forth with the comedy element, and ultimately - when the time came - use it for a tragedy. It would be nice to see how Ken and Tracy would cope tbh. |

I absolutely adore Deirdre. She can do comedy and drama to an equally high level and as of late, I'm loving the relationship with her and Tracy
they're very funny together! I am excited for Ken to return though, sometimes Deirdre disappears for a while being on her own at the moment but what with her Husband coming back, it'll allow more screen time hopefully
