HO Patrick and Maxine
What do we think about the latest twists in this story? I was very surprised that Max chose to go to Dodger. I (sadly) assume that Holly's lies about Dodger will allow Patrick to worm his way back into Maxine's head.
![]() Personally, I love this story. I think it's one of the best storylines of the past year. I always look forward to it being on screen - athough I obviously feel sorry for Maxine. I agree it has suffered from stopping and starting but then so have most stories on Oaks this past year. ![]() I think Jeremy and Nikki are some of the shows best actors at the moment, although JS can be quite hammy, and NS quite squeaky. ![]() I'm really enjoying Sienna's role in the story - Anna Passey in the daddy dearest scene was one of my favourite moments this year. ![]() I particularly enjoy the domestic scenes like Patrick and Maxine eating breakfast or dinner - it really portrays the horrific reality of the situation very well, IMO. ![]() My fear is that Patrick will lash out the week, or maybe the day of, the wedding, and Max will lose the baby. This will be the final, final straw, and she'll leave him for good. I don't want it to happen but I fear it will. ![]() What do you think about this story, and how do you think it will progress (the wedding, the baby etc?)

I think Sienna tells her not to take her brother away from her, if Dodger leaves that means Sienna will be left with Patrick. She still wants Maxine to be free but not take Dodger with her.
Also stupid Holly lying doesn't help, Maxine will be forced to go to Patrick he has soo much control over her. It was soo good to see her stand up to him and from the spoilers I read it doesn't look like there is going to be any happiness for Maxine any time soon. Patrick will either make her have an abortion or put the baby up for adoption, maybe this will make Maxine have the courage to leave him. Or his secret comes out on the wedding day and he leaves. I want Patrick to get caught and for Maxine to be happy, but it's sad that it means Jeremy (Patrick) is probably going to leave when this sls over. |

I think overall this has been a good storyline and both performances have been strong, but the thing that is missing for me is why Maxine was attracted to Patrick in the first place. I understood why she felt obligated to stay after she was pregnant, but he always seemed so cold to her (and really everyone) from the very start. I guess it was the idea that he was this educated man and she felt insecure about herself, but I think it would be a bit more convincing if you saw more of the loving moments between them so you could understand what Maxine was losing when he became abusive.

![]() the abuse only started when she was totally and utterly in love with him, the first time it happened she clearly put it down to a "one off" and probably told herself "it wont happen again" as so many domestic abuse victims do. Patrick is very clever and manipulative and makes everything that he does to her seem like her fault and up until last night (mon) she believed that it was her fault, she only snapped when he started to blame her for having a DS baby, as she quite rightly pointed out, that isnt her fault and for the first time (I think) she saw that everything he was doing to her was his fault not hers, hence her walking out on him and into Dodgers arms

Is Mitzee coming back for an episode to see Maxine or was that just a rumour? Or maybe just wishful thinking.
