I phone 4 connection problems
I got a i phone 4. I go to connect to a radio app which tells me i've got a connection problem, so then i go into the settings icon which shows me i'm not connected to wifi. Then i click on the wifi icon then it tells me i am connected, so then i go back to radio app which again tells me i'm not connected

Being connected to a WiFi network does NOT necessarily mean that you are on the internet. The WiFi access point itself may not have an internet connection, or you are connected to a public WiFi point that requires you to sign in before giving you internet access.
Open up Safari and ensure you can browse the web. I assume you have tried rebooting the device? |

Is the iPhone "settings" showing the network names you might expect?? There is a "network reset" in the menus which would be worth trying. It won't touch anything except the network. |

no, especially when you can surf the web from your iphone.
Uninstall the app and re-install it - if its not Tune-in radio your using then try tunein. |

Your not losing 3G, those arches mean your connected to wifi. When you disconnect your 3G symbol should reappear

That means there's one of two things going on.
1. Your phone is dropping the connection with your wifi router, could be an issue with the phone. 2. Your router is dropping the connection and restarting which is why your phone loses connection. Two things to try: Go somewhere else - a friend or family member's house - connect to their wifi and see if the same thing happens. If it does, then there may be an issue with the phone - contact your nearest Apple store. If it doesn't happen there, then there's possibly something up with your wifi router, or it could simply be that your wifi router is on the same channel as several other routers nearby (neighbours) and is getting interference. Do you know who set up your wifi router? Can they help you to work out what the problem is? |

I think I have found the answer, I went into settings and turned off mobile data due to advice from a friend and it seems to have cured it

turning off mobile data disables 3g and means you wont get emails or be able to access the web when you are not in range of wifi
