Erasure's new album [produced by the amazing Richard X] 'The Violet Flame' is released on 22nd September with a single mid-July. A full UK tour in November / December will follow.

Love the title and very excited that it's with Richard X ... could be the best Erasure album in a very long time!

Can't wait to hear it as I love Richard X's productions. They actually play Dublin the night after I see Kylie.

The one minute clip of one of the tracks sounds pretty epic, and it looks like there's stronger promo / marketing behind this than I've seen for Erasure in a long time. They really do deserve another big album - hope this is the one!

Ted singing it from Scrubs made me howl with laughter I can listen to it more than twice without imagining Ted with hair singing "give me a little reeeesssspeeeeecccttttttttt!"

I hope they promote this album because tommorows world they did no tv apperances except alan titchmarsh and frankmusic did a rubbish job on the production.
on I lose myself the gareth jones mix was better I look forward to a new album though.

Tried getting back into Erasure, but there last good album was Chorus and that was over 20 years ago. Listened to the snippet and there was nothing to get excited about.

They need to promote, there last few albums have charted terribly, Pet Shop Boys can still get top 10/top 5 albums so Erasure should to.

I don't think lack of promotion is the problem.

The change in sound for their 1995 self-titled album was the beginning of their decline, both commercially and in popularity, and they've never really recovered from it. The only times they've achieved Top 10 singles in the UK since then are during the quiet post-Christmas sales period in January.

Pet Shop Boys are good though and continue to produce music of high quality. Erasure no longer do and haven't for such a long time.
