I'm expecting the answer to this to be a resounding no, and she's been pretty bad for most of the past year but I think she was definitely a great character before all this and I'll really miss her presence

She's been involved in some pretty huge storylines (probably a bit too many!) and Michelle Keegan is pretty much currently the biggest star from the show, so I think her exit will have a bigger impact than people think.

I also think Michelle Keegan is actually a pretty good actress, particularly last night she was really great and I actually ended up feeling a little sorry for Tina, I know she's been terrible in this Peter storyline but she is clearly a complete mess and just wants someone to love her. I've spent most of this affair storyline looking forward to her exit, but now it's actually coming I'm actually feeling like I don't want her to go, anyone else feel that way or is it just me?

Me unlike the majority on here, I still like Tina & think Michelle Keegan does well in the role.

I love Tina, and still have a bit of a connection with her. I'm going to miss her because she'll be leaving without redemption, and I think she could easily have been redeemed.

I'm going to miss Tina and she will be a massive loss to the show. I was hoping that Tina would remain as a long term character .

Good look to Michelle Keegan anyway, and I really hope she does well in future acting avenues. She certainly has the looks and talent to succeed.

....that is a very good point.

Like many I really liked Tina in her early days, I remember her character starting as David's girlfriend and I also remember thinking .... 'this actor is very good and I like the character too' but the writing this last year or so has ruined Tina's character for me, this ridiculous unlikely and unconvincing affair with Peter has made her unbearable for me.
I felt so sorry for Tina last night and Michelle Keegan gave a truly convincing performance and yes it is a shame (like you say above dancing queen) that she now will never get the chance to redeem the character of Tina.

I also wish all the very best for Michelle Keegan it would be interesting to see her play a different role.

If they hadn't ruined her character with the Peter affair and forced her into his and Carla's lives then yes, I would miss her. Michelle Keegan is great actress and she suited being a centre character in The Rovers really well it is a shame what they've done to her.

yes, a big loss to the show but its this storyline thats put a lot of fans off the character.
i don;t think she is that bad an actress, can't help but comment that the other actress georgia may foote who was meant to be getting beefed uo storylines to promote her once michelle left has already been sacked before tinas exit, clearly the bosses didn't rate her chances of taking the limelight.

How does Tina having an affair ruin her character? Characters are supposed to be flawed people, not ideal citizens who don't do anything wrong.

Think it's because she was always presented as a character with high morals who would hate anyone who did a thing like this, and now she's being presented as the ultimate bunny boiler.

Tina would never have done something like that back when she was first introduced. She seemed to talk rudely about people that did do it. Even Michelle Keegan said herself about the change in Tina with her having the affair wasn't in character for her.

Good grief no.

Just like I didn't miss those unfortunate arse-grapes I had the misfortune to suffer the other year.

Yep me! I think Tina having an affair with a married man is perfectly feasible if i'm being honest. Sure, the character has changed, but a lot has happened to her since she first moved into Coronation Street, she hasn't just been chilling in her flat watching EastEnders. The only family member she seemed close to was her dad, who then died. Lots of failed relationships, and then the whole baby thing with Gary and Izzy affected her pretty badly. She just seems lonely, and desperate for somebody to love her - if she saw that man as Peter is it really any wonder why she's gone to any length to get him!
I don't think they've ruined the character at all, its character development and showing that events in her life have actually affected her, a bit like Gail Platt who it seems is slowly going insane from her crazy days dating serial killers.

Yes, I shall miss Tina and the actress, too; I wish that the promise had been kept of "the door being left open for a return".

God, no I won't! I can't wait for St Ronseal to finally be just a distant, orange memory

I've got champers and a box of party poppers on stand-by. It's like Christmas Day here

I don't think she's ever been a "great " character - not when you compare her to the real unforgettables - but she was ok to start with. Lately though it is like all she does is pose and pout prettily. I'll be glad to see the back of her.

But I do think a lot of it is down to the directors and the story-writers. They are the ones who dictate what goes on. They have ruined a lot of good characters lately.
