You see this is the sort of comment that could be seen as being nasty but its being said in jest. He/she wouldn't really want a poor young boy to be toe capped.

It is of course possible that he was being 'funny' and the comments shouldn't be taken seriously but you'd think he realise the danger of comments being read out of context.

I'm willing to bet a lot of people here say daft things in jest. There's a difference being daft on a forum and making a public statement like BD has. Every soap character has probably had something negative said about them in the past. I've seen comments from people saying Sonia is a Moomin and Phil is Mr Potato Head.

I think it's a bit different. Bobby Davro is television personality so he should be professional and more respectful than people on a forum that nobody gives a stuff about.

And most of us only insult Shirley the character and not Linda the actress. Linda is usually praised a lot on here.
