A number of points here.

1 Didn't Shirley actually take Stan's money saying that because she had it, her name should be over the pub door. Shouldn't she be the one to pay it back ?

2 She seems to think that she can tell Stan how to spend his money. Why shouldn't he give it to Dean ? She thinks she and Mick deserve it because of their awful childhood. But she did the same to Dean so why should he not have it ?

3 Pissed off because Dean won't forgive her but she won't forgive Stan.

A hypocrite of the highest order. And a two bit lush, but that's another story.

I've really gone off Shirley lately, fed up with her moaning. She was much better when Hev was around at least we saw a slight comedy side to her.

Shirley is a shrewd businesswoman, buying a share in other peoples pubs with someone elses money.

No doubt the debt she called in will be Phil, trying to extort money out of him over the murders they've lovingly covered up together.

I have to say I really like that Dean bloke, his distaste for the Shirley creature is something I can really get behind.

Phil is by far a bigger hypocrite. Banning Max from the Square for getting jiggy with a consenting partner. Joke!

Yeah but Phil had to try and look hard in front of Alfie, in a last ditch attempt to stop Alfie stealing his hardman status. It didn't work.

1 - Yes but Shirley gets the £10k to pay Stan back.

2 - Answered above

3 - She speaks to Stan and currently we don't know the Stan/Shirley picture

Shirls rocks mo!

Presumably gets it from Phil, over some sense of entitlement from all the murders they've covered up together?

Thanks for reminding me of that one

Didn't she threaten Phil because she took exception to Phil paying her rent - then broke into his flat and stole thousands of pounds. Then told everyone she is going to Greece but spent it in a council flat.

Why isn't she brought to justice?

A valiant defence of the two bit lush, Chez, but she'll let you down. She drag you to the gutter with her and I don't want to see you take that fall, Chez.

That Bald Alfie's wife one is spending an awful lot of time in Shirley's gutter... getting a bit too close in there if you ask me.

Agreed, and Shirley does have a soul deep down - I will not mention who is the biggest hypocrite the square has ever had - just that he resembles a very angry root vegetable.

Shirley is brilliant at the minute. Her asking for part of the pub was a way of belonging somewhere - something she hasn't had since she found out who killed Heather.

She also needed that reassurance her family wanted her around - whether they know it or not, that's her son, daughter in law and grand kids, and she wanted to know they genuinely wanted her around.

She's upset that Dean won't forgive her, but understands. Stan (from what we have seen) is also trying to make it up to Shirley, so it's working both ways at the moment.

But we don't know what happens between Stan and Shirley - Dean and Shirley on the other hand is a different story.

Dean, last time he was in it, loved his mother and forgave her for his childhood. He's throwing it in her face now because it's easier for him to do that than get close to her again, in case she lets him down once more - he lames her for going to prison.

Shirley is far from being the biggest hypocrite in soap IMO. I think the dynamic at the moment between her Mick and Dean is very interesting

Phil gives her the money because he loves her!

At least the days with Shirls in the gutter will be full of laughs and fun Mo. You and Shirls have something in common, you both love to rip the shit out of people and are quite comical while doing so All you need is to have a bottle on the curb side and you'll be two peas in a pod xx

1. Yeah, but after what Stan said about her not fitting in with the family, she used that money as security, it wasn't supposed to be a loan, he gave them her the money. I agree, she went the wrong way about it, but you can see the reasoning. Also, once she found out Mick was trying to pay it, she said no and said she would sort it, basically.
Obviously IRL it was all a plot device, they could have written that a bit better tbh.

2. See above.

3. We don't know the full situation of what happened between Stan/Shirley yet.

In addition: I love how deeply flawed Shirley is and nobody is perfect, right?

If Shirley has 10k debts to call in (lucky her) why did she not call them in when they first needed the money instead of taking it from Stan who she loathes. It's sloppy writing that we are expected to believe she has such big debts to call in!
