I don't think I'd call Bombay Bicycle Club "up and coming"... They've had nowhere near 1D's level of success and have only topped the album chart this year but they've been around at least six or seven years with relatively good popularity.
Mozart has never had a number one. Are 1D better than him as well? because they sell out arenas and have been on the telly and everything.

It wasn't, thank you for understanding it correctly I wholly agree with your post by the way, the Cheryl Cole v Laura Marling thing still sticks in my craw.
