Do you like all the little secrets we are being given and do you like the fact that Episode Spoilers are being kept Brief ?

Or

Would you rather we know everything before it airs?

Bit of a non-question, of course everyone prefers the former. Seems like you're asking for a sea of "DTC IS A GOD FOR KEEPING THINGS SECRET!"

Which is true, but... a whole thread about it? And pretending it's a question?

The less said the better, but then i chose myself not to read too much into spoilers, because i chose not to read the full episode synopsis that DS post weeks before the episode airs.

For example, i don't mind knowing that a character will leave, but i don't wish to know how they leave whether it is death, jail, a blackcab goodbye etc

Surprises like Jane coming back for a bit and Honey's cameo in last night's episode are really nice.

I'd much rather have a few twists and turns along the way. Makes watching that little bit more unpredictable. For example last nights episode would have been much less enjoyable if I'd known David was going to have a heart attack.

The spoilers revealed enough that we knew David wasn't on time for the wedding. Everyone believed he'd do a runner, as to type , which made the ending that bit more clever. Those little appearance by people like Honey are nice too.

Spoilers are the worst for me, Spoilers should be teasers in a few sentences, not a full page giving everything away! I'm enjoying the surprises, and I'm enjoying the episodes without spoilers, I'd rather watch it as it happens live on screen, it makes it a whole lot better!

It seems they don't which was why I decided to make a thread about it

Even those are kept short.
Thursdays one is Tiny and Friday is just one line.

Oh really
Normally they are long paragraphs detailing the episode inside and out

Not now. The BBC seems to release less right now and I think EastEnders is all for the better by doing that.

Genuine shocks and nice twists works very well I think and gives people something to talk about.

I like the secrets/surprises - if only Corrie did this with Tina's death instead of practically telling us ..

Tbh, I'd say a bit of each, I like to know a jist of what's coming but bigger shocks ought to be emargoed. I think he has struck a good balance atm.

REALLY? Who on earth said they were against fewer spoilers? That's ridiculous. Spoilers are the bane of our lives!!!

15 / 0 on the poll so far so.................

There is a bit of chat about it in last nights episode thread.

I don't think it would hurt for all the soaps to keep secrets. I think with the Tina from Corrie murder plot they have told viewers too much. Who it could be,Who it won't be and how she does....Plus the fact that
Spoiler

Teasers is a much better word for what EE gives out now...maybe they should start a trend.

I just like to know things before anyone else does that said I do prefer it when we get a surprise as it makes the show less predictable.

In Ye Olde Days we never got this relentless stream of spoilers. It spoils (pun intended) the shows, although you just have to avoid certain things (DS, soap & TV mags) to protect yourself from.these.

Many iconic EE moments would've been ruined by spoilers: who shot Ian/ who killed Archie.

Spoilers are like chocolate digestives. Irresistible but once you've had them you kinda wish you hadn't.

Spoilers ruin things especially when forum members write the whole spoiler in titles that people had chosen not to know. I like to have a surprise now and then. I think a teaser is better than a spoiler.

Without question or doubt keep secrets. EastEnders are single-handedly undoing everything that we have become accustom to in the last decade.

I've been saying for ages how much I've wanted the big soaps to reveal more shocks and surprises and not reveal every little detail. Hollyoaks has been doing it a while and it's brilliant - none of the big soaps has made me genuinely surprised for ages. Corrie literally revealed every single detail about Tina's death and I didn't really give a shit when it happened.

DTC should definitely carry on surprising us - the show is genuinely exciting again

With Hollyoaks it's much easier because it's so low profile. Even though they won a Best soap award on Saturday night it's ratings haven't risen and the press hasn't given it much coverage. With EastEnders and Corrie mostly the press are sniffing around so it does become harder. However DTC is showing it can be done and by the sounds of it this is just the start.

47 / nil ...

Think we can safely assume this is simply a "isn't DTC a darling, with a poll to prove it" thread.
